The B'rel looks great, and pilot maneuvers are fun, but the ship itself is not great. The Temer is a much better BoP that came out at the same time, and the Temer was free. 5/1 is better than 4/2, and command is a much better spec seat than even pilot + intel together.

Like how the Bortas is one of my favourite designs but it has never been given a visual overhaul like the Scimmy and Oddy have and that's almost certainly because nobody bought it and I'm sure because nobody bought it they've just slipped it into 'nobody liked it' whereas nobody liked it because it can't loving turn around. Or like how they didn't bother doing much with the D'D and slipped it in as basically an extra with the Scimmy in the romulan pack because everyone flew the Scimmy and nobody flew the D'D. Yeah that's because the Scimmy was incredibly overpowered and the D'D was actively painful to fly, guys. Lots of people would love to fly the D'D if it was decent.

On a different note what winter kit modules are good? Any of the training manuals worth it?

If I recall correctly Cryptic was on record as saying the Bortas sales were so low they didn't even cover the art costs to make. By that metric I can't imagine a visual remaster happening unless they maybe use the idea to train someone brand new to the team or something. They'd probably still put such a person to work on something that might sell better.

This is actually something I do not get on their business model; do they use in-house people or commission artists to do that? Because if it is in-house, those people should be considered running costs, and if they use external commissions then why?

The game currently makes money, and providing new content is live or die-stuff for free-2-play games to keep the whales in. That should be baked into their long-term goals, not considered on "item to item" level.

It’s the opportunity cost of what your in house person could be doing otherwise.

If you pay them 30/hr and it takes them 100 hours to make the thing that’s a $3000 thing you had them do. If you only sell $2000 worth you’d have been better off having them scrub toilets instead.

Yeah that's why I used the scare quotes there. Even if the B'rel goes up a rank because it's the goddamn B'rel. :colbert:

A better comparison would be the M'chla anyway since that's also a pilot raider and was free from the Klingon recruit campaign. It's amazing how sad the 11th anniversary pack was.

I like the Legendary Vor'cha. The T5 Fleet Vor'cha was my main KDF ship for like five years. I can't defend buying the 11th pack on any grounds other than "I didn't spend any real money" but I'm a sucker

I'd take a legendary bundle of Dominion ships. Most of the recognizable Jem'hadar ships from the show are just the T5 versions. Throw in an updated Galor/Keldon and maybe the Breen warship.

VV Guess I didn't spend enough time in the ship customizer.

Oh they're from lockboxes and stuff, that's why I missed them.

There's T6 versions of all of those. The main skins are different but you can use the OG visuals for all of them.

I'd argue the off-brand version used in the parody Star Wreck: In The Pirkinning was the best version. It's basically a carbon copy depending on the version of the movie.

Everyone says this but I'm pretty sure the Dev's numbers bear out everyone's anecdotal experience about gets purchased and actually flown: canon ships that people remember from shows

Even I say I want more weird ships, but I basically fly 1 of 3 Fed ships 90% of the time.

I'd say the appearance rules Lower Decks has, but that didn't stop the Parliament. So IDK...maybe the devs aren't too interested in it, or they don't know how to make it interesting. I mean, whether it's actually another skin or not, it'd basically be another Miranda?

I am surprised they haven't at least given it away as an admiralty card like they did the doffs

From what I understand of the bits of the show I've seen here, you've also got the issue that the whole point is that Calis kinda suck. They're very much not supposed to be giant borg-cube defeating juggernaut battle cruisers.

It seems like it would be kinda weird having a T6U Doom Cali.

I personally feel it's more because they will be 'forced' to release it as a lockbox ship, and they know the riot that will occur because of that because the Parliament shitstorm would be a storm in a teacup in comparison.

their argument so far has been "we'll wait till S2 is over so we can see what the Cali can do", then we had that deplating in the season finale and they probably cant make anything useful out of it

Endothermic is awesome and I nearly always have it slotted. I like the stun vs the knockback of Exothermic. Pairs well with Cold Fusion Flash, too. Toss a Paradox Bomb at a group, clump them up, drop your cold dots/stuns on them.

Not really. Some of them can be good for PvP though. Dunno what type of character you're running but I found a build to use that 2-shots the bosses on Pahvo Advanced mode with a Tactical. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YTxb-_8wsA8 (I use the Wrist Lance from the Lukari rep instead of a rifle for this build)

Command spec has Hammer and Anvil and Strategic Analysis for team buffs (good for Sompek arena). Temporal has Paradox Bomb which is great for anything, and a few other mods that can synergize well. There's a MW kit mod (Overload Powercells) that is basically a ground kemocite, which can be some type of fun. Intel is rather weak, but has some fun CCs.

You are correct! I completely forgot about those for arena. Since getting competent teams is difficult I've focused mainly on solo DPS without nannies.

Paradox Bomb from Temporal, its universal and can be used for all specs and pulls in then damages enemies. Good if you want to clump them up before dumping another ability on them.

This Red Alert that starts next week, its 14 days and requires 5 dailies, so it should be one that gives out the T6-X upgrade?

I remember one from the Fall which said that it does but actually didn't, because Cryptic didn't bother to update their loading screens to match the event.

[9:44][Combat (Self)]Your Gravity Pull Device deals 25200 (15500) Physical Damage(Critical) to Spawnmother

God I love this build. Spamming Gravity Pull is fun as gently caress. Wish ground PvP was still active because the teleport module + Motivation, Ambush, Gravity Pull wipes out an entire team in one shot.

N'thing Paradox Bomb. I run a couple of copies. It's really good even though your boffs will set a pair off on opposite sides of a group pretty often. A mob getting sucked back and forth between the two isn't going to be shooting at you as they get blendered around the room.

Uncertainty Burst sounds pretty good too, but I got bored when I started training my boffs last time and haven't finished training them yet. Don't want to spend the money until I finally grab some "endgame" boffs. Paradox has double the pull range of the UB teleport and should clump them back up in a ball.

"Science/Temporal: Uncertainty Burst, Cold Fusion Flash, Medical Tricorder, Paradox Bomb" is the boff setup I saw.
