I guess he liked the look of it??? That's a proper tow pig (or would be with a 7.3 in it). They actually ride nice once you load them up, which is what they were made for. You can also back your trailer in somewhere without backing around something the size of the entire state of Delaware because the wheelbase isn't stupid long like with the quad cab ones. The shifter throw........that's just leftover 70s ford that was still very much of the time that thing was made. I grew up with that poo poo so I find it quaint. You can adjust the radio in 3rd with your hand still resting on the shifter knob.

This is why the markets full of 3/4-1 ton diesels with a limo's worth of bodwork and interiors fancier than what Bentley peddled to the masses in the same era of this superduty. Trucks are meant for workin'! Not haulin microdicks, fat wives, and commuting to middle management jobs.  more heavy duty goodness.

I should have been more clear: I totally understand it's utility from a work standpoint and lament that trucks are so full luxury accoutrements nowadays. He just sort of....drove it though? He could have easily gotten away with a sedan with the amount of hauling he did. Now he's got a brand new crew cab super duty and it's like trying to dd a uhaul box truck.

 Yesterday was winter tire day. I didn't do a great job masking the Wheels of Teal for the pickup. I'm sure the paint will fall off the rubber with some driving and a trip or two through a car wash. That isn't happening today because it is cold.
