No overdraft atm uh ability on my bank lol. So I'm stuck with growing overages until I get paid.

I'm a contractor so it's not like I have any choice. Their excuse is "our accountant was away on vacation and didn't see the invoice!" Uh ok. Didn't stop the accountant from asking me questions about other poo poo.

Good news is I have a job offer kinda and had a interview last night which went well so I don't have to deal with this. Guess I'm stuck with these overdrafts until eBay decides to be nice and send out the money from what I sold. Ugh. Oh well, thanks for the advice goons

Ha, been there. ebay just leaves your money in limbo for up to a week by saying they've issued the payment and it's all on the bank now.

you can't really overdraft accounts here in norway the same you can in the US, but i remember when I came home after working in florida, I could overdraft the gently caress out of my US bank card in a norwegian atm lmao. lived like a king for 2 weeks until someone caught wise and froze the card. good times.

My brother once had a van-load of tools, like packed to the ceiling, because he thought if he wasn't getting paid on time, no-one in the entire outfit should be able to do anything.

It worked.

One of my old employers used to get slapped around a lot by employees because he didn't pay in time. He hired a buff guy as his "personal assistant" but the buff guy would just stand aside and laugh at him being slapped around. I just joined the metal-workers' union at which point my pay was always on time (they're a bit litigious and have basically unlimited resources).

Honestly looping all the way back around to the late 90's early 2000's idea that online shopping will be done in inconvenient goofy 3D stores is pretty lmao.

That fuckin' lady that pops up though, that's definitely something stores want in real life and that we've had to sorta integrate around. Not a stupid AI assistant that knows everything about your IoT house yet, but we've def had to integrate this system where you can conference in people from different departments (or even different stores) if the customer has questions. Which I mean, I don't know, people who work in retail: would this be nice to have? Being able to dump a customer off onto someone else seems like a feature retail workers would appreciate. I guess as long as it's reasonably distributed and it's not like everyone from all 400 stores are all calling Jerry because Jerry Knows Phones?

considering big box stores used to have knowledgeable salespeople that were actually helpful, but they left after they went from commission sales jobs to $9/hr retail hell jobs, i'm absolutely certain Jerry Knows Phones would be taking calls from all 400 stores at the same time

But if you're just using this as an excuse to develop a "boring company" so you can more efficiently make deep bunkers for the super rich when all the oxygen goes away and it gets to 200 degrees Fahrenheit, because it's obvious nobody's gonna survive on the surface, well, it's a great idea. And who better for the job than a diamond miner?

Reminder that Musk's original impetus for this whole thing was that he hated having to drive on regular people roads between his house and the airport and wanted his own personal stonecutters tunnel. Like it's not even a cool reason it's just pathetic all the way down.

Also his family owned an emerald mine staffed by apartheid labor, totally different.

Also, no ventilation, so you suffocate before you burn.

Submarines have firefighting systems and can isolate compartments (like, I don't know, the battery compartment) to prevent the fire from spreading.

This is a tube filled with batteries on wheels.
