OHP is so loving humbling. Now I'm really curious how doing them on the knees "feels."

https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/35020907/ Cheese Ingestion Increases Muscle Protein Synthesis Rates Both at Rest and During Recovery from Exercise in Healthy, Young Males: A Randomized Parallel-group Trial Conclusion: Cheese ingestion increases muscle protein synthesis rates both at rest and during recovery from exercise. The postprandial muscle protein synthetic response to the ingestion of cheese or milk protein does not differ when 30g protein are ingested at rest or during recovery from exercise in healthy, young males. This trial was registered at https://www.trialregister.nl as NL7941 (https://www.trialregister.nl/trial/7941). It says cheese or milk so GOMAD is now the scientifically proven superior bulking diet.

This year is my first year as a master in weightlifting, and at my first meet as a master today I finally got my first weightlifting medal because ~master's division~ (gold)...but I also got my first open medal as well (silver)! Also hit another milestone today: 91kg clean and jerk officially breaks the 200# threshold (and it was a 2kg lifetime PR).

Doc Hawkins posted:drat, guess im like, a super-master It goes in 5-year increments: 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, etc. Then whatever weight classes the IWF uses. Kind of nifty since the qualifying totals for national stuff go down as you become older and more sore. USA Masters does an open meet every year without qualifiers too.

I managed 48kg getup on both sides today Double snatches with 32s are getting easier too.

The handles on the stones is also just completely god awful and the fact that she was mentally able to recover and hit the lift is just crazy impressive. Rogue has some awesome documentaries about the history of stones in strongman and highland games. https://youtu.be/MhQlNwxn5oo https://youtu.be/79Tcsg2Yac8 Also for really great documentary on the history of strength training in the US, The Commissioner of Power is fantastic. https://youtu.be/dgqdmIKH-1E
