If peak Kavinsky feels like racing down a highway in the deep night with the pedal to the metal on Testarossa Autodrive, Zenith feels like a slow meander down a beachfront boardwalk on a electrically-assisted bike. Isn't The Birth Massacre more rock/dark wave? It's alright; I especially like the sound qualities of the chorus, but I feel like with a song that's 5 minutes 2 seconds, they could've done a bit more a breakdown and/or extended solo instead of just repeating the same word over and over again.

I've got some thoughts on Leather Terror I need to work thru a bit more but it feels like there is a shifting on the vocal tracks from the vocals being part of the melody to the melodic focus Like the non-vocal songs are still quite strong here as mentioned in the Day Stalker -> Night Prowler and I think there are still good vocal songs on the album like The Widow Maker, I probably just need some sleep and a re listen.
