Someone had found metal shavings on top of one of the seasoning machines and they were either forced or decided to just recall everything. The owner had to rent an extra dumpster with all the chips they were told to throw out.

this has a strong "post-natural-disaster gotta hook the portable generator to the house" vibe (I say this as a man who has constructed and successfully used a suicide cord for ~3 months to power my house after Irma/Maria)

Actually the site I was on there was a guy from Durham Region (Oshawa Ont. where the guy was killed is in Durham Region) who showed up and he was talking about it with one of the traffic control guys. My helper today was the guy who knew the guy. A little while later, when we were finished for the day he was all like "Hey, you know the guy we were talking about that got killed in the wood chipper? That was one of my buddies from college". wesleywillis fucked around with this message at 01:20 on Mar 18, 2022 |

Woodchippers big enough to fit a human through them assume the operator isn't The Hulk so they have big rollers that grab the branch (or person) and feed it into the cutters under power. Without getting too graphic, the part getting obliterated is always past the part the woodchipper has ahold of.
