In the Inhuman Ramage era they were also completely shitfaced every single show, any comments I've seen about them from that time were extremely negative and old live footage isn't great. They did pull themselves together for that live album before they fired ZP and they sound great on it. Well maybe not great, but it's a fine live album for 2010 DragonForce.

The first time I saw Dragonforce -- the only time before last night that I'd seen Dragonforce -- was in 2007, and the band was terrible...with the exception of Herman Li. ZP is, to this day, the worst live singer I have ever heard. I can't even describe it, I've never even heard karaoke that bad. Herman Li was and remains loving amazing though.

Here's a couple for Devin fans. These guys remind me of some of musical motifs, especially the vocal style. Ha I must’ve caught them juuuust before all that as I remember I went to see Children of Bodom in London on the Thursday, Dragonforce and the righteous Edguy on the Friday in Manchester, then got up early Saturday morning at home and bought an Xbox 360. I think the game came out a few months later.

NoEyedSquareGuy posted:Immutable is out and it's absolutely crushing. Was worried that covid troubles and a long production time would lead to a subpar end result but it's one of their best albums, Phantoms is an immediate favorite. I wasn't that into it initially but the more time I've spent with this album the more I'm enjoying it. Ligature Marks and They Move Below in particular are incredible, when they slow things down it's just amazing, really reminiscent of Nothing.

I'm watching that Metallica 40th anniversary concert, and it's super cool as they have a great stage layout and they seem to playing a good range of tunes but all I can hear is SNARE SNARE SNARE SNARE SNARE and holy gently caress it's killing me. I have a pretty decent speaker setup but no EQ designed to notch the poo poo out of this goddamned relentless loving snare drum. Good to know the engineer behind Justice still has a loving job I guess.
