Maybe I'm exposing myself here, but how long does it take to walk down the aisle? There's literally no way anyone would recognize the music for the short period of time it takes, it's also some sad sappy orchestral music and how loving serious do you really care what the actual song is.

What, some rear end in a top hat cousins start chortling during the wedding and yell "it's a video game song bro!"? Kind of feel like that's just the trash taking itself out as the story seems to be about how embarrassed the fiancee is after telling his mom and sister about it.

If i ever get married, i would totally walk down the aisle with City Escape playing. Hell, i'd even use the lyrics as my wedding vows:

"Follow me
Set me free
Trust me and we will escape from the city
I'll make it through, prove it to you
Follow me"

Its a gay wedding, i can do what i want.

I agree with NAH, but a lot of folks in the comments were acting like the store owner was totally unreasonable and OP should get the guys he plays with to complain. I think it would be lovely if OP goes on to make a whole big thing out of the store wanting to keep their game area as an adult space.

A lot of Drakengard is an example where "making it bad on purpose" didn't make it good (though it's fascinating to poke at if that's your sort of thing), but the music is oddly compelling.

AITA for telling my sister I think it’s wrong to divorce her deployed husband

quote:

Interested in Reddit’s thoughts, as I’ve gotten a ton of mixed feedback - support mostly but some disagreement - in person.

My sister is 27, with no kids. She’s been married to her husband, who is military, for 2 years. He’s had stateside deployments before, which were obviously hard on them both and for him mentally.

4 months ago, he went on his first overseas deployment. A month ago, my sister broke her iPhone, but realized that her husband had an old one she could use until her new one arrived. Somehow in the switch over, she found texts from a year before, that confirmed he’d had a one night stand and texted back and forth with the girl for a few days while he was in another state for work. There’s no indication anything happened before or after that.

Here’s where I’ll own I know I wasn't the best: my mom told me what was happened and I called to give her unsolicited advice.

Anyway, after she found the text she waited until he was able to call home, and then calmly told him she was putting his stuff in storage, ending their lease early and moving, and that he could talk to her lawyer about divorce proceedings when he got home. She blocked his number and that’s it, she hasn’t spoken to him since. He’s spoken to me and my parents multiple times and is devastated, to the point he’s had to get medical attention overseas. I called my sister and told her I understood how upset she was, justifiably so, but that I think it’s wrong to do this to someone without even a face to face conversation or real discussion. She told me to mind my own business and said he never gave her the opportunity to have a face to face conversation about it by never telling her. I said she was potentially putting the lives of people serving with him at risk because he seems extremely depressed and distracted, which I absolutely believe. She told me to go gently caress myself, hung up and hasn’t spoken to me since.

Again, I understand that I shouldn’t have called with advice unsolicited. She’s hosting Easter this year and didn’t invite me, my husband or my kids, which seems like an overreaction to me and hurting my family over a gripe with me. AITA here?

Thank God when we got married we did a city hall wedding on Halloween in viking and pirate hats with one person who lived in the city as our best man. Cambridge MA city hall is amazingly pretty to boot

Only reason we went that far at the time (we were living in Chicago) is because we figure Massachusetts would never take it away (gay). We had the added bonus of hurricane Sandy happening at the time for the added excitement of picking up our marriage license an hour before everything closed.

Of course we took the train directly to Salem for our honeymoon too.

like i won’t shame anyone who wants a normal wedding, that’s fine, etc, etc. but i just can’t wrap my mind around spending so much unless you’re just insanely wealthy. i mean we grew up poor as poo poo and i guess i can’t understand spending like. the down payment and then some of a house on a single day

I get the sentiment ( I think) but I have no idea what roadside picnic is. From IMDb it's a Russian science fiction show? I don't enjoy most sci-fi showd so I will probably never know. But also reading the description seems like it might look like a twilight zone or outer limits which might be cool because I do enjoy horror (since I said I got married on Halloween)

it's the book that the movie Stalker was based on, about an area that got messed up by aliens and now people hire guides who can lead them safely through without setting off anomalies with mysterious effects. it's definitely got horror vibes, and the idea of meticulously planning a trip to avoid the invisible barriers that could turn a person straight made me laugh and also desperately desire a wachowski-driven remake of Stalker

So like 5 or 6 years ago I went to a friend's wedding. At the reception the groom danced with his mother to a song she chose. I do not remember the name of this song but the chorus was something like "Just come home" and the lyrics were about a young man who left the home and fell into illicit activities and had nowhere else to go. It was fuckin crazy and everyone in the room was silently communicating "what the gently caress?!?!?" with their eyes.

Later that night we got the bride alone for a moment and asked about the song and she replied "I KNOW, RIGHT? He and I argued about it, he didn't think it was inappropriate at all!"

Yes they divorced last year why do you ask
