Boy if you go back to the very beginning, not only does snout look considerably different, but the other characters side profiles DO NOT look like they do now Also Snouts body hair doesnt form a thick defined T shape over his torso, and his shoukder boils look more like small scales

One time, when I was a kid at summer care or whatever, we went to a lake, and one of the other kids said something and was sorta spinning his hand around, and I just sorta stuck my hand out. Turned out, he'd found a rusty fish-hook on a line and was swinging it around, and it went and got me right in the finger. A completely pointless story, only tangentially related to the comic at hand, but since we're apparently going to do a week of fishing mishaps, why the gently caress not.

I mean I know that Mookie is vegan and thus wouldn't have any recent experience with fishing but dude apparently does not know how casting a line works. Also the lovely timing of the panels where in panel 1 the in-water fisherman is casting a line and Snout is watching, to panel 2 some time later when Snout is trying it himself, to panel 3 where the other fisherman has apparently packed up for the day? Only to see an idiot hook himself in the tail. Regardless, that guy in the water has absolutely minuscule lines of water displacement compared to what he would actually on such calm waters.

I wonder how long we're going to be doing this. After spending a month flying over a lake, anything is possible. You know, initially I was going to say that these comic antics are an improvement, but they mostly just reaffirms how hapless Snout is. The comedy is always about Snout trying some trivial task and failing at it, and it just highlights that he never succeeds at anything. This is my routine reminder that we have no explanation within the fiction as to why they came here. The obvious reason was that Mookie needed to get them away from the library ASAP, but he's made no explanation in-story other than "Arudak wants to talk to a chandak he knows". We don't know what it was that he said to her, because Snout is deaf.

Not only am I unclear on what the party is supposed to be doing right now, I'm also unclear on why they're a party in the first place. This is like a ghost or a shadow of a story. It has the partial skeleton of a generic hero's journey tale, but they're all vestigial bones that don't connect.

That’s a fly fishing set up and trawling lines. You wouldn’t use those on a lake. That’s for river fishing. You need a spin caster to get the right distance on a lake otherwise you just end up in the shallows all the time
