Those should have all been American orders dammnit!

The radars are too good for large aircraft to be invisible any more in most situations. The F22 is still pretty stealthy but even there it's more for lower power aircraft radars at the correct angles, it's still getting spotted by ground stations. The F35 is less stealthy than that. But almost none of these radars were designed to detect smaller, stealthy drones. That's the real arms race now, whoever has the most best drones will win the air war.

They also dont have very good counters for the drone at the moment. The US would be really sad about their fighter force being obsolete, if they cared about operational performance at all. It being a huge waste of money was entirely the point, like a pizza place that only sells one kind of pizza for $80 dollars named "Frontello's Legitimate Pizza"

It’s darkly funny that letting the MiC off the leash in the 80’s destroyed defence capabilities in only a few decades. State Arsenals prioritize the defence of the state above profit motive, and the more control over these industries was relinquished, the more profit maximization ate away at that. Is Boeing even primarily an aircraft company, in real terms?

When the F-35 program was conceptualized more than two decades ago, it was structured under a “Total System Performance Responsibility” approach that gave Lockheed an unprecedented amount of power to manage the sustainment of the aircraft.

this one rots in seawater too. you might be confusing the new independence-class, which rots, and the new freedom-class, which rots, with the new zumwalt-class which also rots maybe you were thinking of the new ford-class who only has problems with its elevators, electronics, piping, and mechanical systems rotting. the hull seems to be doing ok

Admittedly, the Constellation class doesn’t look as bad, but it is also a 2000s era design and by the time they are commissioned in significant numbers (in the late 2020s/2030s) they will be far from a cutting edge design.
