That's pretty much it, yeah. That was a big thing in a previous season, that parents would let Vought inject their kids in the hopes they got a gravy train out of it. It doesn't always work out.

And we spoiler stuff from the latest episode for 48 hours right? This is just from the latest episode so I'll do it to be sure.

Did Hughie teleport or just run real fast to save MM? He got super strength, but it seemed like he didn't get the same powers as Butcher which makes sense with how we've seen V work.

He teleported, which is why he didn’t take the clothes with him. We already know from A Train that wouldn’t happen with super speed.

it was nice to get a scene of maeve this episode. she's a lot more interesting than some of the poo poo they've been focusing on. i wonder why she's only had 2 scenes this entire season so far, other than the in-story idea that she's laying low.

It was apparently hard to work out schedules for the actress this season so she has minimum screen time and interaction with the rest of the cast.

I think it was fun to see Stan Edgar as the CEO, but I hope we see him outside of it. Running a multinational is not something you can do with brutality and fear, there are other factors that Homelander absolutely doesn’t possess.

And when he is rich and powerful as Stan is, the charges might stick, but you’re not going up the river for more than booking until they have you dead to rights, months and months and months down the line, and only if you lose.

Edit: I haven’t watched them side to side, but I think the main difference between Gus and Stan is the restraint. Stan just seems less bothered by Gus does buy anything, and more verbally abusive as a first resort.

comics reference/ending spoiler no really it's from the final issue

stan dropping the 'bad product' line to homelander feels like the show telling us things are going to continue diverging from the comic, as the 'bad product' line was the closing line of the comic by stillwell as he meditated on the shitshow that had just gone down and that ultimately the corporation will live on

This is significant comics spoilers that may or may not come up and is related to my quote.

Butcher is the "final boss" of the Boys comic. His hatred of Supes means he intends to kill off anyone with compound V in their system. Regardless if they are a supe or not. When that's 2% of the planet. Which is 140,000,000 people.. They could easily go that route.

doing what? her kinky sex?

i don't think homelander would care. he just sees ashley as what she is: a toady. he'd probably laugh and ignore it to move on to whatever he wanted to talk about.

i did like her reusing the stupid line this episode though. she's so simple. if she got powers, she'd be one of the worst.

The person who takes him down become the big bad themselves. With the way Butcher is making everyone hate him and he is called The Butcher, my money is on him becoming the big bad boy next season. I still think Ryan might be the one to kill Homelander in some fashion though, but don't see him becoming the next big bad if that's the route they take. Maybe Ryan killing Homelander leaves Butcher with like, an unfulfilled purpose he starts taking out everywhere else.

1. Stan is acting completely unsurprised. His Homelander contingency is probably still intact and he has a plan for this.

2. Please don't die Kimiko, you're one of my favorite characters

3. I thought Supersonic was going to be a traitor, not a casualty! Didn't see that coming.

4. I'm not convinced that A-Train sold them out. Homelander could have overheard any or all of the sloppy conversations and could be just putting it on A-Train to keep him out of the plot. Or just because he clearly hates him!

It was a perfect recreation of something from 2017, but with a trump taco bowl reference, I feel like this stuff is kind of warmed over.

But the entire sequence from getting introduced to the idea he’s doing a commercial to the payoff is under a minute, so who cares in an hour long.

—-
I think this season in particular has a theme of not being able to protect people. Starlight tried to dissuade her ex from joining the team because he would die, then he died. Butcher can’t have a healthy relationship with Ryan. Frenchie can’t stop others from manipulating his girlfriend.
