The constitution is seen as this revered, hallowed and immutable object by a lot of people, and yet a lot of those same people hold the second amendment very dear. I hope the USA system of government is able to reconcile these views, and enshrine the right to abortion into the constitution

It’s always been about winning and wielding political power to achieve your ideological goals for literally thousands of years. For Dems their goals don’t extend much past treating politics as their personal day job like it’s grade school or The Sims where you just climb that ladder and polish your résumé. Republicans also believe in using power for personal enrichment, but also while they are there they want to further their (evil) ideological goals and will do anything to win.Basically Dems should read that Sirlin article about playing to win instead of whining about how Republicans are abusing L-cancelling and why the Supreme Court won’t nerf projectiles.

Roberts is an optics clown, I'm pretty sure he'll just side with the majority to change a 5-4 into a 6-3 ruling because "5-4 ruling" is a meme headline. His written opinion is actually handwavey about maybe adjusting the viability line from the original Roe ruling and then criticizing the majority opinion (that he concurred with!) as going too far in striking down Roe entirely.
