Also at the time I think corbyn's policy was significantly more open than that, that's may's brexit policy.

I was real excited to get this and thought I’d done quite well, but yeah just feeling really quite deflated to be honest. I think I might actually have some imposter syndrome which I’m very much not used to! I'd like to think I would respond to that with something like "Oh, you must be worried then that if I don't succeed, it will reflect badly upon you as the person who made the decision to promote me?" Snark aside, your manager should be invested in your success anyway, though ideally not for just purely selfish reasons. Thing is, it's completely natural that you would have areas for improvement when you've just been promoted. There are a bunch of new things that you weren't expected to be doing before, and it would be ridiculous to expect you to perform them perfectly as soon as you've moved without any extra training or time to try things out. Hopefully it was just a misguided attempt at motivating you, I can imagine it would work for some people or in certain environments, though I can't imagine ever saying something that way myself even if I thought it would have a positive effect.

Yeah this is it, I don’t mind having feedback and development to do, I’m not exactly thin skinned. It just felt a bit crappy to drop that right after the announcement, then schedule our 1-2-1 to talk through it for Thursday. My job is very mindset dependent and this is now going to weigh on my week, and I do actually quite like my job, company and boss overall so it’s a bit of a pisser and just not what I expected. I then had to go right back in to a room of new starts and continue training them with that bad taste in my mouth. I’ve also made it plentifully clear that I’m motivated by praise - if I need to improve just tell me what and why and I’ll do it. Anyway I went to go and film some stuff after for my next project and that made me feel better cos it’s one step closer to what I really really want to do

This is why BPAS want the complete nullification of Sections 58 and 59 of the 1861 Offences Against the Persons Act. Not amendment, not partial exemptions, not decriminalization, but for those entire parts of that act to be struck through and replaced with "a bunch of old men with stupid hats had opinions about pregnancy here, they were wrong." Anything less opens up avenues for more of this poo poo.

UKMT Solidarity Fund Monthly Reports for May and June 2022 Apparently we forgot to post an update covering May last month, so this update will cover both May and June. As you may expect, the news is not great. With the rising cost of living, both the number of requests and the amount requested are increasing, and despite some generous donations this is steadily eating into our funds. We've told a number of goons who have relied on us in the past for help with budget shortfalls that we may, in the near future, have to restrict payouts, as we feel we need to keep a certain amount in the pot for the direst emergencies. I don't know what's to be done about that, but if you're somehow flush with cash in this rapidly-decaying hell country and fancy doing some good, please do consider chucking some money our way to help out your struggling comrades. I just read Labour's plan to "make Brexit work". Well, the first work they need to do is hire a proofreader, because entire paragraphs are repeated. But aside from that: "We will tear down unnecessary trade barriers!" follows "We will not rejoin the Single Market!" Is there an or a about ten times bigger to fully express my feelings on the wet egg's piece of wet lettuce?

Bit weird when you think about it, presumably the waffly promises of "we'll do all the good things you like" used to be favoured because you can't really be held to account on something vague, and you can often do whatever you want and claim you fulfilled your promise. But we're in a post-truth age now; Keith has quite proudly reneged on his previous pledges, so why not bash out some more enticingly specific promises now with if you're going to backtrack on them (or at least ignore them) anyway?

I tested positive today after having an absolutely miserable Sunday of flu like symptoms, lots of "ah gently caress" & "oh gently caress this" plus sweating out several kilos. Mercifully for me I feel almost alright today so was surprised at the positive test. What's more concerning is route of transmission could have been a random member of the public. Could've been the guy who came back to work after 6 daily positive tests but ran out so came back. My company only requires you to isolate 5 days after your 1st positive, not 5 days after your last positive test .

How long after testing negative should you keep isolating, in an ideal world? I tested negative today, eight days after my first positive, but that's with an LFT so I assume it isn't likely to accurately pick up low levels of the virus.

Back when there were rules I think two days in a row of negative tests or ten days was enough to end isolation.

My guess they didn't like the idea of men going in after the drop a smelly one? I did some work at one of the Big Law Firms in London and the floor I was working on was a recently refurbed ‘tech accelerator’ floor. It had segregated toilets but also a unisex one. Mostly dudes on the floor but not entirely, and it was weird that both men and women used the segregated ones MUCH more than the unisex one (which was just a row of four cubicles and some basins, nothing outrageous). I always used the unisex one because you could take a poo poo at 3pm and the toilet roll was still folded over. Glorious making GBS threads isolation. Even the Wi-Fi worked in there!

I think most women hate non-segregated loos because men always get piss on the seat. The press have caught Boris Johnson lying about something again, excited to discover how it turns out this time.

Yeah having worked cleaning toilets, the ladies loo was always an absolute state. Also, is there any real difference in the amount of stink produced between the genders? A petite lady taking a period dump probably generates as much devastation as a big fat bloke exorcising last night's feed of curry and ale

I have to say, one of the main benefits of working from home is that I don’t have to use the disgusting mens toilets in the office. An office full of supposedly smart people who cannot figure out that you have to hold down the flush button to make your turd go away.

Not lifting the seat is one of those bizarre things I don't understand why so many of my gender can't do it. But even more so is not cleaning up after. Going a bit off with your aim is fine and understandable, it happens sometimes. But just wipe it up. There toilet paper right there! There was a guy who left such a mess constantly that my boss sent out a company wide shame email. As for women's toilets, I used to have lots of bar staff friends and they also used to argue the women's was always worse. It's if just a drinking think? Or is it generally?

As a former night club worker men generally only piss, poo poo and - sometimes - puke (and usually right into the bowl!). Women piss and poo poo everywhere, plus blood, plus every literally night there'd be a stall that looked like a vomit grenade had exploded inside it.
