That would be one Dr. Noah Forman, CFPC specialist and practicing family physician. Their Director of High Performance Rich Rotenberg is a trained physio as are the vast majority of the rest of the medical staff (excluding the dentists of course).

Looks like they updated the site since this morning. Gilman's lost the AGM title and has a fancy Governor of the Marlies title instead. Not sure what that means but I'm guessing it moves him out of Dubas' hierarchy to run the team as it's own little org under Shanny where he's doing more of the business/non-hockey management while Hardy gets the traditional pick players and coaches job.

It’s ~potentially spicy~ as it’s hard not to see this as a demotion, all things considered. Especially because they didn’t include Gilman’s new title in the announcement.

It also moved him below Dubas' direct reports including glorified intern Jason Spezza in the depth chart https://www.nhl.com/mapleleafs/team/management. I think he was 2nd under Pridham when I looked in the morning.

The less drama option is that he's traded the high profile job for his own little empire off to the side. Like he's trading off chances of moving up for a safer gig. He came up as a law/business guy so wanting to be the behind the scenes guy might be what he wants.

That's so weird. I get that he knows the system and all that but DeSmith kinda sucks even for a backup. If there's a market for him then shrug and let him walk and get somebody else.

He's cheap and the Pens don't have the cap to really invest in a backup. His regular season performance has been just fine as a backup. It sucks that he gets hurt every single playoffs but oh well even if that happens again you aren't winning a cup with your backup in anyways. The Pens will go as far as a healthy Jarry can take them. Desmith is just there to soak up some regular season starts and still give the team a reasonable chance to win.

I think the Sharks are actually an excellent starting position for a new GM.. there is no ambiguity as to the current state of the roster, the direction that the organization wants to take, and the sort of time frame that he is looking at. Grier has a couple of challenges in the upcoming year (re-signing Timo Meier and figuring out what is going to be done with the goaltending moving forward are the two obvious ones) but overall there's not much to be done but wade through the rebuilding process and wait for those horrible contracts on the blueline to either expire or get to the point that the final couple years can be offloaded.

I think as long as he has good strategic judgement of the situation (and doesn't let poo poo like a fluke playoff run like Anaheim almost had this year derail his thinking) I can't see him going wrong in San Jose. They've always been a team that has been good at developing talent internally and operating with a long term focus.

Probably because somebody else is as expensive or even more so with a bigger unknown downside. It's fine.

I think DeSmith, had he not been hurt, would have beaten the Rangers too.

I heard on Puck Soup that, depending on which way the Kane grievance goes, the Oilers could have been playing the second half + playoffs with an ineligible player. That means McDavids (and the oilers) playoff stats are vacated/void/forfeited, which lol and lmao

I wish the Oilers made the cup finals now

And also FA starts in a couple days and Kane may or may not be a UFA, which is kinda important

Did Brisebois outright say that Columbus was going to claim McDonagh or did that come out through the usual media channels? Revealing the details of a backdoor deal you had worked out with another team is a pretty lovely thing to do to them in the first place if that's what happened.

Rumoured ask for Miller has been a young defenceman, top prospect and a 1st for a while. I doubt it has changed significantly since the trade deadline.

For the right team three firsts would be a great deal for DeBrincat. The last time a goalscorer of his agree and pedigree came on the market was probably Kessel back in 09 and he cost the Leafs two firsts and a second.

I feel like the teams that would want Debrincat and be willing to pay that price wouldn't have the cap space for him and the teams that could take him probably wouldn't be advised to spend three firsts.

It's probably a reasonable risk for a young team on the rise like LA or New Jersey. Carolina or (barf) Colorado could probably fit him under the cap relatively easily too.
