snail loves loving with admins but ive never seen him call anyone a pedophile or anything, i wouldnt describe anything he does as 'harassment'. maybe ive missed it but he seems to just joke about making vtuber threads/stirring drama, not any actual personal accusations. larry sucks and should be probated strenuously and i refuse to accept him as one of us. this is advice that extends far beyond this thread but i think pedophile accusations without proof, or at least some kind of legitimate good cause, should be an immediate ban. imo. i think a single chat thread post isn't really that open a call so its reasonable people missed it. this thread is way past its peak but still moves relatively fast compared to a lot of the subforum. i think its unfair to accuse people of only wanting to be the center of attention when theyre just mildly joking about this forum not having had an actual mod for months, i dont think anyone (besides larry, who sucks and isnt one of us) is legitimately trying to get under your skin or anything.

I'm not sure every, or even most, posters in this sub read this thread regularly or at all. Granted, I'm also not actually sure a sticky thread would make much of a difference since I feel like a lot of posters also just read 1-2 threads from their bookmarks list and aren't people like me who never use bookmarks. Which is why I was wondering about multiple iks, but something makes me think that would get a similar reaction to a mod offer

If you want people to PM you suggestions, make a thread. It’s not even being asked in the rules thread, the only thing in there is that you’re the temp mod and that you’ll be soliciting regulars in March. Fundamentally we want a mod who is one of us and will stand up for us when the next inevitable qcs thread happens about real idols or whatever.

i think you're kinda taking that post of snail's out of context, multiple people were implying he was a pedophile and he was making fun of an FYAD poster who literally made some weird joke about asking for child porn in the vtuber thread, he wasnt accusing the mods of doing that. also i know snail, theyre friends with half the old ADTRW mods including ones that he was joking about there. he was joking about how much drama he caused just by making a vtuber thread but he wasnt calling the mods pedophiles and he wasnt encouraging harassment of them.

And thats just in the international community. The wotas in Japan have way worse culture problems, not to mention the exploitive nature of the companies themselves. Anyways, all that to say all of this would be easier to deal with if people were more kind and less lovely to one another. But it is not the reality of the culture of these forums, for better or for worse. But we are working on it, but its hard to change the fundamental core of something as old as this.

The chipmunk debacle is pretty different insomuch as the chipmunk thing was someone posting alvin the chipmunk getting a blowjob and people mostly getting mad at the guy who posted alvin the chipmunk getting a blowjob, versus some people making weird posts in the vtuber thread and literally everyone who posted in the vtuber thread or indeed in ADTRW getting called a pedophile even if they said 'that post was weird yeah.' like i agree the well is pretty poisoned as far as a vtuber thread goes at this juncture but come on
