unfortunate. i would have loved to keep him if at all possible. just slightly too much for our blood, but maybe there's a chance... looking like next year to start it's: kreider-zibanejad-lafrienere panarin-trocheck-kakko blais-chytil-kravtsov hunt-goodrow-rydahl/brodzinski/reaves lindgren-fox miller-trouba jones/lundkvist-schneider hajek Shesterkin Halak I'm surprised they didn't try to package a young forward + Lundkvist for anyone yet, but I don't think it's terrible to hold on to them. that's not a bad lineup if most of the kids take another step. probably leaves us with enough cap room to accrue and have another nice deadline, which would be cool. Too slow to do anything at an NHL level anymore and also too brittle to stay on the ice more than 5 minutes a night. He was beyond washed up when he last played for Calgary and that was 5 years ago. Last I'd heard from him he was talking about how playing hockey had become torture but he kept doing it because his Czech team would pretty much immediately go bankrupt if he wasn't on the ice as a draw.
