Y'all got me thinking about these old electric toy planes I had as a young'n. I remember the plane was attached to the remote by a solid but springy wire which kept the plane a set distance from the remote (for safety I guess) and the copper wires that powered the propeller to the remote ran along this wire. The remote only had a single button that you held down and all you really did was spin around with the plane as it flies. If I remember right, you twisted the handle to direct the plane to pitch up or down. I can't for the life of me find this thing online. edit: oh yeah, just remembered that I also had a gas-powered one that used these little tins of whatever fuel it was. The tin was the shape of a 3-in-1 machine oil canister, I think. This plane was also attached to a D-shaped handle that just tethered to the plane with a thin rope or some kinda kite string.
