I was slow on the uptake for Age of Empires 4 because I loved 3 and didn't love 2 that much, but I am finally playing it now and am really enjoying myself. Finally getting to the point where just attack-moving is not sufficient for victory. It's funny as hell that every campaign mission (so far) starts with a live-action video of the location, so your epic scene-setting for London in like 1066 is... modern London, chock-full of cars

If hunting games are your jam, I made an OP for the new hunting game, Way of the Hunter. Slower pace than COTW, more realistic in most aspects. Some launch bugs. https://forums.somethingawful.com/showthread.php?threadid=4010247

When I had an xbox there was this game Gunmetal where you could use music you had ripped from CDs to the xbox's harddrive as background music. I ripped one of my dad's Van Morrison's CDs, so this is inarguably video game music https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AYqJtqyeilE

Did anybody even make an FFXIV post to prompt this second discussion about it in three days? I don't even care that you don't like it, but it's starting to get tedious going around in circles about it.

I like FFXIV I got Ninja to 50 and then picked Monk back up. Glad I did, I'm remembering why I liked this job when I first picked it however many years ago. Currently doing Heavensward stuff, and would you believe it: I saw a gaddang moogle! That's cool, imo

Planescape setting is getting some 5th Edition material and now I'm dangerously hoping that this means they're thinking more about doing something with the setting in video games. Baldur's Gate 3 being tied into the Baldur's Gate: Descent into Avernus book as a prequel gives some potential. I may just also be working myself because my Spelljammer 5e book set that just arrived has rules for giant space hamsters and the monster manual expansion book is titled Boo's Astral Menagerie.

The Zoombinis remaster uses a more cartoony art style than the original game, like the original's glasses were realistic-looking with the pixels they had, but I can see why they went with it. hey quick question: does "breath of the wild" actually refer to an object or concept in the game itself
|

Its a thematic concept, Link hasn't had a breath mint in 100 years and man is the smell wild when he opens his mouth

I did it! Last Call BBS, X'BPGH God that was grueling. The puzzles pushed well past the limits of my mental RAM. This was my first Zachtronics experience, do they always leave it to you to figure things out? I mean I ended up appreciating this approach, but the first few minutes were frustrating because I literally had no idea how to make anything happen. And it took till about the half way point for me to get all the intricacies of the rules and interface. But in retrospect it was really neat how organically I went from clueless to fairly proficient. The difficulty forces you to learn and adapt to progress. And it was pretty loving hard, at least for me. Great art and concept too. Sometimes thinking about a puzzle less abstractly, as actually growing a fleshy construct, helped me in solving it. It was probably just me taking a fresh look at the problem, but still.
