I think they said tracking numbers weren't being issued. I don't even remember if it's coming here or going to my future address (either is fine, I started sending them over there because I already have stuff there and there are people there to collect it. Will be moving soon enough).

It was a huge, huge disappointment when we busted it open, and the app that drove the thing was so broken (and the rules themselves so incomplete in the book) that the game had to undergo a whole post-launch development cycle, including a V2 of the app launching just recently, but I'm p skeptical that things are fixed. Lots of cool indie ttrpg people did writing for it and I'm sure that part is great but the actual gameplay was a misery. Can't speak to a new edition but I went all-in on it's original version and deeply deeply regret it.

The fact that the campaign doesn't really highlight how they've addressed the earlier problems and criticisms makes me think you're right to be skeptical.

From footage I've seen of play it seems more aimed at adults than actual Pokemon, though, and is fairly self-aware. At least as far as the writing goes. Makes it much more appealing to me than the franchise proper.

The whale with a propellor tail is also very similar to the Moby midboss enemy in the Dive Man stages of Mega Man 4, but yeah, cutesy attack robot versions of animals can only go so many ways. Like there's no way "robot scorpion replaces stinger with little cannon" hasn't been done a million times already too.
