Beating 0-2 Army and not soundly beating their FCS cupcake holds them down for now. Sample size, etc

Their schedule is backloaded as hell - after Halloween it's @Marshall, App State, Southern Miss, @Virginia, @James Madison, plus probably @Louisiana-Lafayette for the conference title. They run that table, and with Cincinnati and Houston already having lost, they might well end up in the Cotton Bowl.

with the player abuse scandals just sort of bubbling near the surface for the last two years, i think fleck would be the last guy any team wants to hire for a rebuild

selfishly i hope they hire bill o’brien so i never have to see him again, but i think chadwell might actually be a good pick for them if he’s willing to basically start over in terms of building his recruiting network (because you’re not getting fringe guys from the carolinas to come to nebraska)

Aranda is turning Baylor into a defense first, 3 yards and cloud of dust type of team. He'd fit the mold really well, would just have to figure out how to pull him from Baylor, who is obviously the much higher profile program.

Urban to Nebraska makes a lot of sense, really

1) The farming communities will accept his fingering of ladies crevices - but will probably be distraught that he's not wearing shoulder-length gloves
2) The losses will likely no longer be by one score.
3) It might actually kill him.

Granted, I'm really only considering Point 3 in my opening sentence.

Really Nebraska does have a lot going for it mostly because it is in the Big Ten. In a couple years if you aren't coaching in the Big Ten or SEC you are really just coaching at a mid major. This isn't a shot at other conferences and schools or even a post about the Big Ten. It is just the way the money is flowing. We are heading towards the mega conferences and if you want to be a top NCAA coach you have to coach in one of those. Everything else is intramurals, brother.

And that's assuming Fleck would even come. It's pretty much a lateral move at this point, and that's when you factor in the money. I mean, poo poo, it'd probably take a Jimbo Fisher-sized dump truck of crash just to pry Bielema from Champaign.
