Hot take: outrage is manufactured by Disney for their own purposes. The company actively endorses anti-lgbtqia+ legislation it is not shocking at all that they would with their ownership of 60% of active IP and guage the acceptable amount of queer media erasure via grassroots outrage campaigns. Like it costs as much as three or four social media managers.

i mean, the reason they are doing this is because (shock alert) white people are a minority now and they're trying to make something with broader appeal, so they can make more money. it's not out of either some sort of moral courage or courting outrage for PR (though if as a side effect this also helps make them more money that's fine too.)

There's really not more to it at all

I backed this when it was on Kickstarter. Both our cats hate it. My wife still mocks me for having spent money on it. (at least I got the thing I backed which is better than ~1/3 of my early Kickstarter backings)

I'm usually pretty good about not being picky! I grew up in a country where we bleached our vegetables because everything was contaminated with human waste. I will not eat KFC. I stopped the day my mom asked if "this gravy smells like sewage." It did. My lettuce literally fertilized with human poo poo didn't smell like sewage, but that gravy did. Nope, nope, nope.

One can hope. They really are the thinnest skinned crybabies ever.
