Loads of my friends abroad (including non-Brits who almost seemed more emotional about it than Brits) watched it on streaming services. And no, I'm not claiming to know 4.5 billion people. Even Al Jazeera was showing it. I did not watch it. Page snipe: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HebPtMRv8hA

Russian state TV is basically American right wing rolling news. Except instead of daily demands to turn Baghdad into glass it's London. Very weird stuff all round, they should try to have a bit more chill.

BBC client journalism really going full mask off right now with headlines that Truss is cutting business power bills in half. The obvious truth is that they're limiting what the increase might be (and it will still be large) but to just keep acting as if our magnanimous overlords are cutting bills that are actually going up, that's pretty special.

Managed to pick it up off camera, not that exciting in the end. Disappointing experience overall.

The autocue held off to the side and the bizarre audio recording stick are particularly funny.

https://www.bbc.com/news/blogs-magazine-monitor-22819331 It's worked before. They did this to Enniskillen when a G7 or 8 summit was being held in an ultra posh lake side hotel outside it. By spending a million to put fake pics in shop windows to make them look active from afar.

Do you think they’d try and run back the last couple of weeks with the same level of pomp all over again? They’d have to, right? I’m sure the media will go less crazy, because Brenda was as much about a cult of personality than strictly monarchism, but all the protocol would call for the exact same process.
