it seems like the main objection is 'we don't want you to post stuff that makes us look bad, especially not when it's recent' and 'you keep breaking the arbitrary rule that nobody cares about because it's arbitrary'

completely and unironically as backwards as you could possibly get. literally, and not a joke at all, you would be much much better off recruiting mods from this thread for other parts of the forum than recruiting within them. people who post here understand what being a mod actually means. the fact they will almost certainly say no should really be a tell.

Remove the one year rule, aggressively probate using the thread to litigate boring poo poo that should go in QCS, of course that requires active moderation and we can't have that

because it does neither of those things, any more than people opening umbrellas causes it to rain. QCS intensifies drama and the forum overall creates a superabundance, you can either have space for people to talk about it or you have nothing but space for people to talk about it.

The intensification and creation of drama doesn’t spring from nothingness, it’s founded in all the at-best stupid poo poo that’s constantly flying under the radar on this site

My point was, and still is, that having a thread solely devoted to current drama is bad for the forums overall and that is what this thread is, the weakass 1 year rule being routinely ignored when good drama happens, which was only put in place as a precondition of having the thread again after it got gassed for the nth time.

This thread has very recently gotten The Anime Liker banned, a weird and creepy dude that wrote up a bunch of child porn. And as others have said, you need some sort of an outlet for talking about the forums, otherwise things will explode more frequently in QCS.

Because it educates people on the entire KM/Lowtax bullshit that a non zero percentage of goons either don't know about or still assume the party line of early 2020. I know it hurts your feelings to get made fun of for being a pedantic embarrassing nerd, but some people on this site were called nazis because we called someone Barney.

I think that outweighs any possible "drama" that could be brought up

theres nothing wrong with commenting on past and present drama the reason id imagine the dumb "no current drama" rule was put in place was because the drama wouldnt be hashed out fully and people would come in to thunderdome slap fight each other about it for pages on end but if you moderate the people doing slap fights then theres no reason for the rule

i know its a horrible crime to ask mods to moderate but it doesnt seem too hard to push a button on that

drama in an online community as big as this is inevitable and people are going to talk about it no matter how hard you try to stamp it out. if you gas the sagas thread then people are just going to migrate to QCS and make threads there the best thing to do in my opinion is to just let people discuss the drama and if people get unruly you can hand out probs to shut them up

but is that what's happening here? i don't think so. personally im not on some crusade it's just funny that the mod forum isn't public and pretty much the only real reason is because some of the idiot grey forum mods/admins like to post while doing the evangelion pose while discussing whether it's a hate crime to say aids. and that's funny to lol at.

This time the drama is from the mod team freaking out that users can see their weird posting tho. Like who the gently caress talks about people the way mods talk about dongicus, arf, and Larry. They like to stir things up but the stakes could not be lower, they don’t need supervision like a naughty child.
