i mean i understand the 'no current drama' rule because i remember during the whole KM vs FYAD showdown the sagas thread was basically people slapfighting and screaming at other people over forum grudges. someone asked about hearing goons rigging neopets art contests by pretending to be children so they would get pity wins and asked if anyone could confirm this, people started yelling that it was a FYAD psyops to distract them from the current drama. i still don't know if the coordinated neopets contest rigging was real.

Maybe instead of censoring drama like a foul word, figure out the root cause and try to stamp it out. This doesn't mean ban anyone who's talking about it like you're fragmaster permabanning tenementfunster, this means actually putting a teeny weeny itty bitty yellow polka dot amount of effort into some self reflection, reading threads outside of the report window, and not having the spiteful, petty, and embarrassing attitude of "Take away their sigs, make it sting." It's loving atrocious and why this poo poo keeps happening.

I think what's worse for the forums than a drama thread is mods deluding themselves that they can avoid criticism by making things as boring as possible to try and drive off specific posters for the crime of posting jokes. There is no secret method where you can mod effectively and also never have a bunch of people emptyquote a mean post about you. If it's genuinely a problem that someone is posting a bunch of scans of midcentury Catholic pamphlets about how masturbation kills in the Sexy Furry Megathread, probate them and stand behind that decision instead of crafting elaborate schemes to drive people out without QCS regulars noticing. edit: I should have posted about some games too. gently caress. haha what posted:happy 4 all to have a great gaming weekend 🙏 I'm on to Majora's Mask 3D and since I've had covid or the flu or something the past few days I'm making good progress. This game kicks OoT's rear end in every respect except for recycling a lot of its elements but it uses them with more flair and style than OoT did. The only big downside of all of it is that the world feels a lot less naturalistic than OoT (the major areas all lie in exact cardinal directions, and it does the cliche forest-ocean-mountain-steppe array of environments) but then again OoT's giant empty field came across to me as a tedious diversion this time around. I remember playing it as a kid and Hyrule Field seemed like the coolest place I'd ever been because it was legitimately the biggest single spot of terrain I'd ever seen in a game and I got similar shivers from Mystical Ninja 64 later. But this time around I got seriously peeved having to walk across the big stupid field or else when I wanted to teleport somewhere I had to find the shrine closest to it and play a different song for each area just to get there, where MM just has one simple 3 note song you play and then you can teleport anywhere, including directly back to the town. It fixes like all of the problems I had with OoT's quality of life stuff. Game's real good
