None of my schools banned Mario or Pokémon or anything growing up, but they tried to ban Crazy Bones since kids in our class would fight over the rare ones. None of us listened though so they gave up. I didn’t go to a religious school, but two of my high school math teachers at the tiny charter school I went to were hardcore evangelicals and would sometimes preach their beliefs during class. We quickly realized that we could get out of classwork by pitting our senior year math+physics teacher against the resident 2000s style atheist kid and letting them argue the whole time. I brought my Pokémon cards to school once and a teacher took them away and I cried so much she felt bad for me and let me have them back under the condition I never bring them to school again. Welp that’s my Pokémon card story thanks for listening

teachers actually banned me from reading because that's what i wanted to do instead of paying attention in class lmao i was not allowed to have any books out unless they were schoolbooks, and it still was a issue when i just started reading those instead of paying attention

I’m the fifth grade I was such a pain in the rear end I once asked a question and the teacher said “ if you don’t know that you can go back to the third grade and learn it again” so I spend t he next two days in the back of t he third grade class lol.

I have a nephew who my partner's sister pulled out of public school because "they're terrible" and instead decided to send to Catholic school on a voucher. I get that the public schools probably are sub-par (not a great neighborhood in Indianapolis) and I think my nephew understands that the religious stuff is all bunk, but the whole thing is just  Oh, and both my partner's family and I were raised second generation Unitarian Universalist and there's no Catholic background whatsoever. strtj fucked around with this message at 23:12 on Sep 30, 2022 |

That somehow them being able to post and view on SA was part of a massive far reaching conspiracy to doxx and harass trans posters.
