However, they do have change of control protections that are triggered when an investor acquires more than half the company's shares and if Moody's and S&P lower the company's credit ratings no later than 60 days after the change of control event. The change of control provisions require the company to offer to repurchase the notes at 101% of their face value assuming investors give notice of their desire to redeem their notes. The company also has convertible senior unsecured notes which Moody's does not rate, of which $1.15 billion mature in 2024 and also have change of control provisions. In other words, Elon might be on the hook to pay out another $2.8 billion to existing Twitter bondholders just because he couldn't let things ride for a few months before he started firing everyone.

So which disgruntled ex-goon is this person? I don't mean dox them, but what was their user name here Also, loving lol, they bring up Aatrek but I think they accidently deleted the post about why people were upset about him. Like, if you don't know who Aatrek already is you would have know way of knowing why him being a mod was upsetting, or why he got banned. They aren't defending him or anything, they clearly think it was a massive gently caress up to have Aatrek as a mod, but they don't actually mention the fact Aatrek was a convicted pedophile.

That's the problem that every social media company has, moderation has to be done by people, and you can't scale people. So you either have a huge outlay in terms of content moderation, or lovely algorithms that let too much stuff through and catch harmless poo poo.

I mean, do moderators on sa get PTSD to the degree that professional moderators of social platforms get? I don't think so I think part of the reason why professional moderators for the big social sites are so traumatized is because the environment that they've allowed to exist is absolutely horrendous. something awful hasn't gotten that bad because you guys do a pretty good job of stopping the poo poo out of that stuff and making an example of precisely what is and is not too far phrased another way: the big social sites are hellscapes that are traumatic to moderate because their owners allowed them to become traumatic to moderate, all in the name of a fairly extreme and unrealistic interpretation of what Free speech means Potato Salad has a new favorite as of 15:06 on Nov 2, 2022 |

what's sad is that this isn't the situation where they can't put the horse back in the barn. the big social sites totally could, it would be expensive but they would see normal users come back when the sites become safer and more positive instead, what they're landed with now are people who can either tolerate open Nazism or have done an exceptionally good job of curating feeds such that the nazi poo poo stays away from them

We also have 0.001% of the userbase and everyone knows each other and also moderation on this forum is a disaster that is always pissing everybody off and 50% of the mods/admins end up leaving after huge embarrassing meltdowns. Not you saddest rhino, keep up the great work bud.

Why on earth would social media companies want to ban people from their platform? That would mean fewer impressions and clicks. It would mean number go down, and number go down is bad.
