Having played some obscure CCGs and TCGs with text chat on the internet you pretty much never want to talk to someone you're playing a card game with on the internet. Losing in a game of wits 1v1 is a recipe for massive flaming and anger.

I have no confidence in internet moderation (including this forum whose official rules state that you can say slurs "if it's funny;" I've talked to a dozen mods and nobody will do anything). I already reported accounts on Snap (like a dude who had the handle "VVomenbeater") and I have no idea if they were ever punished. There's no way to track it. I've reported Discord servers with admins who allow hate speech and Discord responds "did you talk to the admin about it?" I've reported hate speech to all of the major social media platforms and it doesn't matter. A racist misogynist had enough money to just buy twitter and circumvent moderation. Our only respite is just not letting people talk with specificity. Nazis and their ilk benefit from "prove i was being abusive" and people who moderate the internet can't "prove" it so hate speech thrives. Take, for instance,the white power okay sign. "Prove that's what it means!" is a really convenient way for them to be hateful out in the open. Also typing poo poo like "I am gonna play Kilmonger! I am gonna do it!" adds a ton of time to the game when one of its biggest strengths is speed of games. It also adds nothing that just snapping doesn't convey. If you're snapping, you are trying to either bluff or coerce them into snapping too. Inventing a specific scenario and typing it adds nothing
