Nah I think classic is just the version you don't have to pay for, adventure mode is a separate thing that also is gonna be delayed til after release

I was playing at the same time while watching a Kruggsmash stream recently. There's a weird recurring issue about mothers drowning their kids. Like if the tide or water moves and they're forced to swim at any point, they drop the baby and even if it's absolutely retrievable, they'll just stand there and watch the kid drown. And infants not smart enough to go towards the ramp leading out soooo... between the 1 he lost on stream to the sea and like 4 that I lost to the river, the water spirits hunger for the lives of children it seems.

You can change the world settings (increase cavern openness, decrease passage density) to make the caverns become one or two giant open caves instead of a bunch of tiny winding passages. You still have to dig like 20 layers down to reach them, but it is much less of a headache once you do. It feels a lot more like playing the old way.

You can also change worldgen settings to alter the number of layers between each cave layer and the Hidden Fun Stuff. You can set it as low as 1, IIRC, though I don't think you can control how many layers the caverns themselves take.

In preparation for the December 6th celebration, I'm playing Dwarf Fortress again. Here are two really banger dwarf songs. I'm posting them mostly so I don't forget the links. do we know if the procedurally generated art will be reflected in the actual art? e.g., if you make a golden statue of a goblin, will it look like a gold goblin?

Have they revealed the UI for assigning labors in the new version? Is it the same menu it's always had? Wondering if I'm going to have to choose between waiting for Dwarf Therapist or figuring out the menu I've been avoiding for 10 years. edit: ah it's at 31:20 of that youtube tutorial. Not sure where else to ask this: are the donation crayon drawings considered to be NFTs? And if so, how valuable are they I believe that I own the only canonical depiction of a draltha, and therefore I also own the concept of a draltha. yes? I use the autolabor plugin so much that just having to assign jobs instead of having everyone just do jobs when I want them to seems impossible
