Chinese fanart of a hypothetical IBO sequel? Neat.

For official Gundam stuff, someone's translating the phone game.

Haven't watched it all yet, but it has some interesting bits of worldbuilding already, like confirmation that the monkey model Grazes are sold for civilian use, and the information that Venus is still an active prison colony.

Hard to say. I'd default to "unlikely", but it depends on a lot of things including, presumably, how Gundam Breaker Mobile's financials look in the west, how the game does in Japan, and so on.

Still, we're at least getting fansubs for it.

It's 15 minutes of Tekkadan conducting job interviews. Or, more specifically, Eugene conducting job interviews.

(Full voice acting for this segment, too, even if it's not full animation. I know it's just one data point, but springing for that much booth time with Rie Tanaka and Yūichirō Umehara is more evidence for the "Iron Blooded Orphans was a success in Japan" side of the debate.)

For as much of a Wing fan as I am, and as much as most people agree Wing is aesthetically quite good, there is no denying Zechs has the lamest helmet/mask I've ever seen in a Gundam.

I'm not sure who has the best one though, unless we count Quattro's shades.

Prospera's helmet is absolutely atrocious. Chronicles anti allergy facemask is also worse.

Vidar's helmet is pretty good.

Practical, too. Takes a bullet like a champ.

Rau's in Gundam SEED is pretty bad. It really emphasises Hirai's bug-eyed character designs, and the forehead crest and the little sticky-out bits on the cheeks are weird.

And what should one do to be remembered?
Worst has to be either Mr Bushido or Chronicle. Rau's fine only because Neo's is even worse.

Grahams is a reasonable enough approximation to a Samurai facemask. I'd forgot about Roanokes mask, that one is fully awful. Ugly and in terrible colors. Chronicles is dumb, but it is a nice bit of world building. Of course people in such a controlled climate would have difficulties dealing with all the pollen and such in Earth's air. Of course then he still wears it in the colonies, but let's ignore that.

It's also worth remembering that an IBO Gundam's increased power output makes it better at everything. It's more durable thanks to having more power to strengthen its nanolaminate coating, and it's faster and more agile even when carrying extremely heavy weaponry. In other words, generalist Gundams can match specialist single-reactor suits in their own specialist fields, and specialist Gundams can get more extreme performance in their specialty than any other machine. See also the Vidar, which is a Gundam Frame with an ultra-lightweight loadout, and is basically untouchable by any other suit in the setting, or the Brewers' Gusion, which is a Gundam Frame with an ultra-heavy loadout, and can annihilate basically anything in a single hit while being nearly immune to any other suit's weaponry.

Wasn't there something that had "just" dual drives in IBO at some point, or am I misremembering or even thinking of 00? Not proper Ahab-squared synced drives, just two drives running in the MS to boost output.

Nope. You may be thinking of the Vidar, which had an extra unsynced drive that didn't power the suit and only existed to mask its signature.

What? Zechs' mask is one of the best! Counting only masks proper and not sunglasses, I'd rank them this way, from best to worst:

Char (with helmet)
Zechs
Mister Bushido
Neo Roanoke
Iron Mask
Full Frontal
Rau Le Creuset
Char (sans helmet)
Cronicle Asher
Schwartz Bruder

I like Schwarz's face mask just because it has the Gundam v-fin on it, and it's so loving stupid that it's glorious. I generally dislike the various masks and helms that the Char clones wear, including the original Char mask/helm, which I think looks pretty ugly, but Zechs' one is probably the only actual helmet I think looks decent and Wing's AC is so insane that it doesn't even feel that out of place that he'd be allowed to wear it constantly. Iron Mask's full face helmet is good too. I also don't mind Graham's Mister Bushido mask either, partially because I think it's not a bad looking design for a mask, and partially because it is actually covering up some pretty major scars, both mental and physical, that the character is bearing. It helps that pretty much everyone is aware of who he is too, and it's just him wearing it to deal with his own poo poo. He's dealing with it in a really stupid, chuuni way, but at least everyone is in on it.

That said, since this was started based on someone's opinion of Prospera's mask, I don't actually mind it. I prefer it over a good few of the other Char masks, including the original Char, Rau, Neo, Vidar or Full Frontal.

Not in IBO, but in 00 there are multiple units that have more than one drive for raw power. The Alvatore mobile armor that Alejandro pilots at the end of 00 S1 has 7 tau drives that aren't synced, they're just there to push more power. The other mobile armors like the Empruss and the Regnant also have multiple drives.

And the Raphael Gundam also runs on 3[T] Drives and is described as being at least on par with the output and use of the Season 2 Gundams. Same thing with the Brave Commander type, it's got Two Drives that aren't a proper Twin Drive, with tech manuals saying if it needs to and one of them was damaged it can just hotswap a Drive into the back port.

Late period 00 had created enough Tau drives that it was fairly common for fancy MSes to have a couple basically.

So what's going on with Pesche in U.C. Engage? She joined AEUG after the One Year War from what I gather, but does she abandon them to join Neo Zeon, or is she going to be fighting Neo Zeon? I'm basically curious if this is more Zeon apologia, or if Pesche is being portrayed as someone who actually saw some of the horrific poo poo Zeon pulled, and is willing to stand up against them after it.

I'm pretty burned out on Lego games after a multitude of different DC, Marvel and Star Wars ones over the years, but I'd immediately be on board with at least one of any Lego Gundam game just to see how they handle it. I need to pick up the newest Star Wars one at some point, since they appear to have made some effort to change things up after the series got pretty samey over the past decade or more.

She was a Titans pilot at Augusta afaik, and attacks the Zeta Gundam after Rosamia bites it in the Psycho Mk-2 and gets disarmed and left to drift, so going by that image, she gets picked up by Neo Zeon afterwards, and/or joins them.

Except the possibility of another Titans pilot shooting you in the back. Emma had a really good set of circumstances line up for a smooth defection. Most Titan pilots don't have it so easy.
