Appealing on that ground alone will certainly happen. To appeal the rest of the judgment, Jones will need to post a bond equal to the compensatory damages plus costs and interest unless he files competent evidence with the court showing that his net worth is less than that.

Yeah, Jones’ personal bankruptcy was an inevitable situation. He’s personally on the hook for over a billion and a half and definitely doesn’t have it even if he has a few hundred million. Yes his finances are going to be scrutinized, but not really more than they were before. This shields his house and studio plus some other things from collections even if he cannot discharge the judgments against him.
