Elon doesn't want people there overnight so he can gets features out faster, he wants them working long hours and never going home as an end in itself. Yeah that's probably true. Which means that Elon himself doesn't understand WHY some companies do crunch cycles. He just thinks they're a standard part of "how company be successful". And because no doubt he's been through it a few times with Paypal and Tesla etc, he knows it's just "a thing you do". Like if you do one crunch cycle and you get X success, then you can do crunch all the time and you'll be X^2 successful. Companies that don't do it are just lazy! He's cargo-culted himself. And better, as an open platform (and even soon to have its own internal marketplace for avatar and asset creations) It's why Horizon is getting mocked to death constantly. VRChat even hosts virtual events, most recently VKET's virtual marketplace showcases have included convention booths for Japanese locales and businesses. (Get to go have a look, examine products, click a link to pop out to the actual web storefront in your browser). It's a neat way to spend an afternoon exploring with friends, but anyone who tries it could tell you wouldn't want to make that your norm for shopping or business. If you want to see why Horizon's so absurdly bad, streamer RTGame played it so nobody else ever has to out of curiosity. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UdqrFa6pWLA Edmund Sparkler posted:George Hotz doing the equivalent of posting "FB friends, tell what's the best wireless provider and why? And go!", except he's arrogantly posing as the savior of a clapped out social media company and he's in way over his head. The stuff he's asking? I've actually worked on front-end functionality doing similar things (not on twitter scale, but still professionally), and the questions he's asking are either laughably basic things or so absurdly wrong he should know it's wrong before asking. I doubt I could build something for Twitter to improve their search, but I'd know well enough to be engaging with their back-end API team and looking at how the existing search functionality pulls results to start with. And then I'd probably spend a couple months learning Twitter's architecture, API and language just to even begin to understand the requirements involved. Programmer guy has already won, idiots. He wondered "what would it be like if i could just tweet questions and twitter responded with the results of my query???" Then he went and tweeted a question to his rabid elon fans and expected them to reply to the query with results. It's a Flinstones version of the solution. Instead of code and machinery programmed and built to house this new feature, Elon/Hotz will count on a legion of smelly nerds to watch all of twitter for tweeted questions and then go out and supply answers and reply to the tweeted queries with their results. checkmate.

I also recommend the Happy Hill Dog Park in a similar vein, cause you can play fetch with neat NPC dogs that'll go retrieve and return toys to you.

Ok, so I’ve decided all this is because ChatGPT uses tweets as one part of its input. ChatGPT is the “search engine that is better than Google,” created by OpenAI, a company that lists Musk as a founder. Something something something Twitter is the future of search.

google search is kind of lovely now unless youre searching for something that you can buy or programming topics we're pretty much stuck with it though it's hard to see how anyone fixes it or creates a replacement because decades of google encouraged "SEO" bullshit has ruined all of the inputs they used to make google search good originally

Last batch of changes devalued all the classic SEO bullshit and instead supporsedly promotes genuine user behavior, like actually reading things. The problem is people mostly see ecommerce pages anyway because thats what the core google search algorithm values, and most users don’t see content they’d actually like to read - with the exception of Wikipedia, which is why its so high in the organic results often.

So if these were actually able to search and parse out other AI text... well we have an arms race.
