the one thing that holds ff9 back is that the minigames kind of suck. i dont know a single person who thinks tetra master compares to triple triad, and the chocograph theme is seared into my brain

Terrible Opinions posted:In a game about overcoming self-doubt, the final boss being an embodiment of entropy isn't really out of nowhere. To be fair, it's the same as in the other games. Chaos is literally the embodiment of what the Four Fiends were causing. The Cloud of Darkness was the opposing embodiment of the previous world/cycle's 'flood of light', and FF4's final boss was talking about very briefly, but with no real indication that he was the final boss until right near the end.
