That’s why I love my older Honda garbage. Just enough power to keep out of trouble, and enough suspension to keep having fun. The EM1 is perfect in that regard. Rev its nuts off and it’s still not “fast”, especially by today’s standards, but it’s certainly engaging and entertaining. The S2000 is incredible fun but borderline manic, and the S60R has too much power and girth for tight and twisty roads. It’s fun as hell, but for corner carving, I prefer an older Civic or the FiST. My Huskie 400 is perfect. It can rip through 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th before the braking for the next stop sign. If I'm feeling really bold I can kick it into 6th at about 45mph for that extra thrill.

I had a 2006 Swift Sport and it was basically dead below 4k rpm, but beyond that it was one of the most fun cars I've ever driven. Just a shame I was a bit too tall to comfortably fit in it. Also yeah fuel economy no better than my 1jz Crown making over 400hp.

BlackMK4 posted:Exclusive First Look! 340-HP 3.6-Liter Four-Cylinder LS-Headed Crate Engine I've been trying to wrap my head around how this would make sense in any road vehicle. Basically it's based on a low revving industrial engine with a turbo needing to be added that makes V6 power, weighs the same, costs the same, and is half the size. A Ford 2.3 turbo can make roughly the same power. I guess it might be good for boats, sand rails, dune buggies, circle track, or whatever but there are a plethora of car engines that would be more cost effective and better on the road than this thing.

In NA trim it makes more power than the turbocharged 2.3, and weighs about 60% as much. Throw in the LS aftermarket, and it's one hell of a package. I'm really curious where they price it, because the 2.3 starts around $7k from Ford Performance, which isn't bad.
