Unlocked four caches and snagged Ultron!

Then I overshot a bit making my Magneto extra shiny and wound up with a fifth cache. It had Destroyer!!! :hellyeah:

I don’t really have the pieces to make Ultron work yet but Destroyer I can play right away. It even plays nice with a lot of my favorite control cards like Cosmo, Armor and Professor X.

Between the collector tokens from that, and the ones I unlocked from caches, I was able to get She Hulk out of the token shop, AND unlocked some other cards I to boot.

Also realized I didn't have Attuma before like I thought I did apparently. But hey, finally unlocked Colleen Wing and Black Widow at long last.

Edit: Well here's a fun fact about the new location I just learned for the low low cost of 8 cubes: Aero dragging an opponent's card to it doesn't trigger the kill ability.

Nice, I'll try that too. I use Sinister to fill lanes for Wolfsbane, and sometimes with Forge if I don't get Brood, but Scarlet Witch would be more useful.

Same goes for Death's Domain. The card may have been revealed there, but it wasn't played there.

Also if you play a Goblin there as not your first card, but the opponent hasn't played there yet, it does get destroyed. Which is some bullshit imho.

He for sure does not. Not guaranteed to start in your opening hand, not even guaranteed to draw him on turn 1. Not sure how without those two things he would even affect your curve if that's what you mean.

It's a meme. Putting Angel or M'Baku in your deck all but guarantees that you'll draw them on turn 1.

Vormir is awesome for Galactus btw. You can drop Electro in there (or Wave), and a lot of opponents don't play on it very quickly, so it's often an open lane for Galactus. And then when the opponent wants to react their first card is destroyed, it's great.

Just need to be careful not to drop a Goblin in there as their first card because it will get destroyed.

I have had a lot of luck using a KaZoo deck with Ultron being the Turn 6 card

Weird interaction that does not make sense: Kingpin's effect moves with him, rather than being applied to the lane (unlike say Cloak, or any other lane based effects that I've noticed). So my opponent played Kingpin, then Cloak, then moved Kingpin to the cloak spot and Aero'd my board to that space which destroyed them all.

Well hey there. Would have preferred Knull or Sentry but could have been worse. Has obvious utility with Kiev/Rockslide etc and seems fairly limited utility that I wouldn't bother building a deck around. Could be good and punch above his weight on certain features locations though.

Wouldn’t it be anti-synergy with Maximus? The only synergy I can see is with stuff like Korg or Rockslide.

I can only see him in a mr negative deck. you normally have 2 or 3 cards at the end of you dont draw extra right? A one cost eight or ten powers not bad.

Black Widow also synergises by guaranteeing that your opponent draws one less card. He's very niche, although you'll see him a lot when Vibranium Mines are the hot location.

I'm not as down on the game as I was last week, but I think a major problem I'm running into is that I don't like the snap mechanic. It's neat in theory, but in practice it means you're punished for making close butt-clenching plays and rewarded for playing super boring and conservatively. I totally understand that's the appeal of the poker-like mechanic, and it's a personal preference thing, but it just leads to a lot of unsatisfying play for me. The appeal of the short matches is diluted for me because in half of them the smart move is to just retreat even if you're not really doing that badly and in a traditional CCG it would be worth playing the match out. Like I'll be playing for 20-30 minutes, and get maybe one or two satisfying matches amidst a bunch where either my opponent or myself retreats before anything interesting happens. I find myself losing cubes just because I want to see these matches play out instead of bailing on turn 4 or whatever.

And I hear you, "Just don't pay attention to cubes or rank," but that's hard to do when it's literally the only measure of competitive progress and it informs how your opponents approach every play as well, if you're going to just ignore that completely, you might as well just be looking at JPEGs of the cards and making the little animation noises with your mouth.

Retreating is only worth it when you are 75% to lose. If your opponent snaps on turn 6 retreating is worth it when you have ~63% odds to lose. The optimal way to play the mechanic is that close games happen and you just get out of non-close games. This game just does not work with you taking full losses for sakaar pulling your surfer and your opponent's doom.
