I don't have Mystique or Debrii yet, so I'm making due with Ka-Zar and BM, but yeah, I once got Debrii played against me (or maybe it was from the location) and it was sweet. Less of a dead drop that Squirrel Girl it seems, since SG is just 1-power and doesn't get the Patriot buff, but at 3 it's not AS bad.

I think the only deck happy to see those rocks is another Patriot deck. And I guess maybe the Baero variant with Killmonger.

Also, on the topic of Leader, he is stupid.

I opened a Sera the other day and was eager to put her in my Suffer deck but after a few hours of play, I'd actually dropped a couple of ranks. Frustrated, I used the Leader I found in the shop a few days ago and put together the closest thing I could to the Dino Good Cards deck. I've shot up more than ten ranks since yesterday. His effect really should not be board-wide.

Ironic considering leader is supposed to be some big brain super genius, he gets played in the most dumb gently caress brain dead decks imaginable.

Re Black Bolt, someone played it in that location that fills the space with the card so it discarded everything in my hand except what I drew going into 6

Hats off to them for that, I don’t know how often that actually works if it’s not the featured location but it was pretty hilarious that time

Thrilling the forums since 2001

Just had someone snap on location 3 reveal after dropping Psylocke on T2. The location was Superflow so I'm trying to think of what 5 cost card they were ramping in to and so I continued. They galaxy brained Prof X which....gave me 1 more energy than them for the rest of the loving game. They retreated after their Gamora got Juggy'd up to a safe lane on where it didn't get buffed on T5 but it's still baffling what the point of that was? Why ramp to block only your side of the super flow on Turn 3? Like there's definitely places that prof x'ing early is smart but man, that was not one of them.

I've done that with prof x because I had a poo poo draw and figured I'd take the shot

Edit: I'm generally bad at using prof x tho

You really can't do Dracjaw without Dracula. There's no replacement for him. You should definitely run Apocalypse anyway though, he's your best turn 6.

Without Dracula I'd play Lockthor instead, if you have Thor.

Wasp
Sunspot
Okoye
Green Goblin/Ironheart/Lockjaw/Thor
Jubilee
Jane Foster
Odin/Giganto/Infinaut

Goblin is a flex; it's there to mess up Galactus and take Space Throne. You could probably swap him and Jane for Wolfsbane and Surfer and Okoye for Brood, and make it a cosmic hybrid deck.

I appreciate the input! Unfortunately I am missing Thor, that deck looks like fun. I have Jane and want to use the card as it's probably my favorite art as far as the 'basic' cards go. Missing Brood for the hybrid. May just try a discard with Apocalypse and see where that goes.

Is Destroyer worth shelling out for? The deck seems fun but I usually beat it with Patriot. My other holdouts are Negative or Debrii probably. Maybe Lockjaw. I don't have Mojo so that probably makes the final product slightly less good

I've been trying to figure out a good Knull/Destroyer deck but I haven't been able to make it work just yet. Knull is ongoing so if I can get him out with wave and protect him with armor or something, he'll get a bif buff when I drop Destroyer at the end, but that's as far as I've gotten

I tend to develop into the location the armor, so I haven't had this happen so far. Maybe the list gets a lot better with Knull? Only deck I've run into playing him so far was a more generic destruction deck with Death at the top-end. Really, I think that's the core problem. If you're going to focus on destroying your own cards, she's just a much better finisher than Destroyer.

I wanted to reply with a joke like "a deck with the amazing Invisible Woman > Wong > Hellcow > Hela combo" but then realized you would not have a turn to actually play Nick Fury.

I don't know if you really would want to Fury > Dino instead of going Moon > Dino > Dino or Dino > Arnim Zola > dual Dino.

I don't think it's a great deck but the easy build-around is Quinjet & Collector to add a bunch of cards to your hand and play them with a discount. Probably Devil Dinosaur too but he does compete with Nick on turn 5. If I was a new player with a smaller collection though, I wouldn't hate just slotting him into decks that need a turn 5 play, just to ensure I have plenty of gas on turn 6

I'm sure Second Dinner picked Nick because they're fans of Mr. Jackson, but it is kind of a funny commentary on the game's monetization that their big Christmas gift is one of the worse cards in the game.

Don't fret, though, in just a few days, you'll be able to pay 39.99 for one of the best. Lucky you.

That's really the problem, I tried him in a Dino/Collector deck and mostly just took up space. I could count the number of times I used him on one hand and those times were really poor draws and I was shoring up a location rather than counting on his power.

Seems like the signed variant also gives you the base card, is that how it is when you get a variant of a card you don’t have yet?

Had some good runs using him in my collector deck, seems to do well as an addition to DD as well, play DD on 5 and then use fury to get +6 on DD along with his 7, not too shabby.

No, that is not the case. It functions like other variants you can get before you have the original: you can use the card and earn boosters for it, but you'll still unlock the base version at a later point (whether that is a matter of minutes or months).

Oh I must have had the base version already, just was confused because I sorted by recent and they were both the newest. But it seems it sticks all the variants together even if some are a lot older.

Bad news: it will feel that way until you get several specific pool 3 cards. And right now there seem to be two different discard types that each want different pool 3 cards. And it will make discard feel better but it'll still be coinflippy.

But since you asked and not to be a complete downer, maybe something like this?
Ant-Man
Nightcrawler
Blade
Angela
*Morbius
*Swarm
Wolverine
Bishop
Lady Sif
Swordmaster
Apocalypse
America Chavez

Starred cards are the pool 2 ones which you hopefully have already. Hope for those Apocalypse or Swarm discards so you have a beefy turn 6 finisher or 0 cost Swarms to fill every slot (also buffing Angela and Bishop as much as possible).

It's not very good but you can tighten pool 2 discard (and fill it out) by playing low cost stuff designed to play early - like Iceman, scorpion etc.
