The are like 5 entire scenes in tlou in which Joel puts on a mask, and he takes it off when he's right next to the dungeon hole that emits spores I.e. a bit too soon imo. All of those are combat sequences with no plot, and the fact that Ellie doesn't need a mask (but has to hide that fact from anyone who is not Joel) adds to the plot imo.

You can interact with other people if you want and the atmosphere is pretty decent most of the time but you can ignore them if you want too. I love playing solo but in MMOs just because I enjoy seeing other people running around, but would rather not have to actually do things with them.

i play solo as much as i can in any MMO, because i love the feeling of being self-sufficient, and i also like the feeling of showing off what i have earned via said self-sufficiency to other random people in town

I really hope people give Dragonflight a chance this year, cause it's legitimately good and was my #1 for the GOTY thread - and wouldn't have made an appearance if it was anything like the last 2 dumbass expansions. Dragon flying is a lot of fun, and there's tons of solo activities and gearing paths.

Finally finishing Ico thanks to PSN and I was struck by how modern it seemed. The lack of a hud, storytelling through game play (there's like 4 or 5 cutscenes in the entire game) and emphasis o puzzle solving rather than combat it plays like games like Inside or Portal. There's even a section of the game that feels like Portal 2 straight up plagiarized: You fall down into the underbelly of the main structure of the game and have to find a way up again.
