You got Onosho from Day 5. Dead Goon posted:I never really know what to do when someone goes kyujo, do you automatically trade for someone from my picks at the same rank, Kenning? In the case of kyujo, you can request any appropriate trade. If the trade request comes in before the next day's bouts you get it and avoid the fusen. If you don't request a trade, you get the next person down your draft line after you eat the fusen loss. You'll be auto-traded (and dropped down the draft wire) unless you specifically request not to be traded. If you don't request a trade and your draft line is unavailable you're boned. There's more detail in this post. You didn't request a trade, but this basically a trade inquiry, so you can get Chiyomaru from day 6. If you'd like other trades lmk and we can work it out. I think by my math I should have 19 unless i'm mixing up a bonus point or penalty somewhere. PJ might should also have 19 if kotoeko's day 6 win counts for them. I also plan to let Oho carry me gently back down to lower Juryo. Boogalo fucked around with this message at 08:17 on Jan 15, 2023 |

Day 8: Shodai...

Day 8: Tobizaru with some clown sumo monkey magic to get the win, impressive leg sweep. Shodai is officially washed from his Ozeki chance this tournament. Hoshoryu straight up pulled a "throw the drunk out of the bar" on Sadanoumi. I need to get a good screenshot of Hosho's face just after the match too, it'd be a perfect emote somewhere. Takakeisho with the slappatoshi win, still tied for the lead. A good day.

Day 8: Is there some beef between Hoshoryu and Sadanoumi?? That toss was downright disrespectful lmao. With the little head waggle afterward too, just beautiful stuff.

Day 8: If I'm Nishikifuji, that's a loss I'm still proud of. Toe to toe with the cannonball for that long, that was just a fight. Edit: if you're following juryo, Asanoyama is currently undefeated at J12. What the hell happens if he pulls the zensho yusho? They can't promote from 12, can they? I think Takakeisho is doing an excellent job of displaying why he deserves the rope. Every match he goes into you just expect him to win, and he keeps proving that expectation right, even when he isn't bowling people out of the dohyo in seconds.

I always thought he was a good ozeki but this is the first time I've thought he looked like a yokozuna. Ironically it's because people are putting up more of a fight and he's showing that he can pivot to winning another way after the cannon shot fails.

this is a huge if ofc but if takakeisho ran the table from this point out and they decided to promote him, would there be a precedent for there being two yokuzuna but no regular ozeki? i know due to ancient banzuke regulations both yokozuna would be listed as yokozuna-ozeki.
