And they are dancing, the board floor slamming under the jackboots and the fiddlers grinning hideously over their canted pieces. Towering over them all is Homer and he is naked dancing, his small feet lively and quick and now in doubletime and bowing to the ladies, huge and pale and hairless, like an enormous infant. He never sleeps, he says. He says he’ll never die. He bows to the fiddlers and sashays backwards and throws back his head and laughs deep in his throat and he is a great favorite, Homer. He wafts his hat and the lunar dome of his skull passes palely under the lamps and he swings about and takes possession of one of the fiddles and he pirouettes and makes a pass, two passes, dancing and fiddling at once. His feet are light and nimble. He never sleeps. He says that he will never die. He dances in light and in shadow and he is a great favorite. He never sleeps, Homer. He is dancing, dancing. He says that he will never die.

One thing I love about Bluey is the pacing of the "cut to credits" edit is always perfect and you can tell they spend a lot of time on it (and it's hilarious in that episode.. it cuts RIGHT at the *retch* sound).

But then if you ever watch it on cable they completely ruin the edits to try to speed run the credits to get more ads or whatever It totally ruins is. I mean you shouldn't be watching on cable anyway, but from time to time I've got it on Disney Channel while getting ready in the morning and I've noticed it.

Nah they changed a joke in one scene in a way that actually kind of becomes a better "screw the audience" type joke.

The original version has a character telling the dad "yeah, it was in and out, and I even got to keep em" with the implication that he was talking about getting neutered, then later the dad's saying his wife wants to keep her options open "but do we really want more of these things running around" before his kid runs into him. In the Disney version when it cuts back he's talking about getting teeth pulled.

There was an episode that wasn't released in America at first because it's entirely about farting, and that was dumb but I guess at least they eventually decided it was okay to put that one up too.

They did remove an episode where Bandit is 'pregnant', I don't think it's been added back yet.

His "urp" right before it cuts to credits makes me cackle every time. Also Disney has the episode where he is talking about getting neutered but changed the dialogue to be about "dog teeth.".

The banned episode is one where bandit pretends to be pregnant and Lucky's dad has to help with the delivery

It's the end of January, so I thought that would be the perfect time to watch a Christmas movie. Spirited on AppleTV is better than you think it's going to be. The songs are good, the choreography is at least as good (why have I not seen that flashlight gimmick more? It's fabulous), and I loved the costumes, of all things. I'm going to need Ryan Reynolds jacket before next year. The ending is a little easy and the middle drags, but that's the worst I can say about it.

The preceding presumes you are not a person brought, understandably, to a frothing rage by a photograph of Ryan Reynolds

Hereditary on HBOmax is probably worth watching just for the horrifying things it does to its characters in the first third or so. It loses its way a little after that, but it stays somewhere between weird and scary until it goes insane again near the end. I thought Toni Collette seeing her mother standing in the corner was one of the scariest ghost scenes I've seen, probably tied with Scully seeing her dad in the X-Files. Horror movie endings are always a little disappointing, but this one does the best it can. Please drive safely.

Toni Collette is a powerhouse. It's unfortunate that horror is often not seen as worthy of accolades as drama. Mia Goth puts in an excellent performance in Pearl but it's in the wrong genre of movie to get recognized.

Also, do yourself a favor once you've seen X and Pearl and look up an interview with Mia Goth to hear her normal speaking voice. My jaw dropped like it did the first time I heard Idris Elba speaking after only knowing him as Stringer Bell from The Wire.

Watched a Korean movie on Netflix called "The Call". It was certainly interesting, I'd classify it somewhat in the vein of Happy Death Day, where its a unique take on horror/thriller using a premise often reserved for sci-fi. It's about a phone that can allow people to talk across time, and two girls who are trying to use it to help one another deal with their respective tragedies. I don't want to say too much else.

When this came out was there much discussion in the thread, or any other thread? I'd like to read other people's opinions. I'd give it a solid 7/10. The premise was strong but I thought the movie was far too bleak, and there were some plot things that went nowhere. I also really thought the fake out happy ending was a strange choice.

It's a really fun show, cleverly written, and I've been loving Natasha Lyonne and all the great guest stars, but the central conceit of Charlie rolling into a new town every week and becoming acquainted with people that get murdered and/or do murders shortly thereafter is going to seem strange after three seasons. Imagine the cumulative trauma of this situation playing out thirty times. Maybe I've been poisoned by serialized storytelling.

I've watched the first 4 available episodes. I liked it a lot. I feel like Rian Johnson didn't have that heavy of an influence on it. It's fun, but relies heavily on Natasha's natural charm, and is very formulaic. They reveal the murder at the very start of each episode, and the rest of the show is about how Natasha figures it out. There is an overarching story, but it's overall very episodic.
