Also, because Toronto lost that game they were the 8th seed and the Hurricanes were the 6th seed. Had Toronto won that game, they would have been 6th seed and the Hurricanes 8th. Toronto went on to lose to 9th seeded Columbus in the first round, while the Hurricanes defeated the 11th seeded Rangers.
