There are horror stories for every insurance company. 10ish years ago a tornado took out a chunk of Washington, IL. I was living about 10 miles away and was fine, but I knew plenty of people who were directly or indirectly affected by it and the people with State Farm had a much worse time than those with any other insurance provider. You would think State Farm might put in a little bit of effort when their customers are 30 miles away from State Farm HQ but nah.

Insurance companies don't make money by paying out. Their whole thing is "we're gonna take more from the people that give us money than we're gonna give them". I mean, not to ruffle anyone's feathers here but this is just basic capitalism (and also why you should hate it and be a communist instead)

However, she helpfully told me to go to another company who would handle it, because that was how it was set up in Canada. Company A only did sport bikes, company B did Harleys, company C did vintage bikes, and so on, none of them overlapping with each other's markets. A literal cartel lol

Humphreys posted:Hmm! Who woulda thought Citroen made something that looks fucken rad AF Citroën for a sizable percentage of their history was doing "Cashing checks the drive train can't match" on all their lineup. They made nice cars that rode well but had anemic engines for as long as i can remember. A lot of historic Citroën owners are interested into doing ev conversions of them since losing that anchor of an engine would be an improvement. But it's teh 3rd time in a week I've had his name organically in conversations this week since I remember him advertising Pioneer CDJs back in the 2000s.
