integration by long division is deeply obnoxious and having been taught newton's method early would definitely have helped but i'm betting that most math teachers below college don't bother to learn it either lol

It's because when you don't have your pocket computer on you you need to do it in your head and telling someone "remember, 224 is the same as 200 + 20 + 4" makes it a whole lot easier to do so.

i've seen math teachers let people use graphing calculators and even the textbook open during a test and people still bomb ridiculously bad so honestly all the notes in the world won't help some people
