Rhymes with Orange Get Fuzzy 2/20/03 Brenda Starr 6/12-14/50 Oh come ON. At least he's not named John St. Basil, with an eyepatch on the opposite side from Basil's... And Messick has to throw in a stereotyped Native American to make it even more fun. For those who would rather not look: Brenda explains to the pilot and copilot that Hammerschmidt kidnapped her and she's not with him, no matter what he might claim. Smokey Stover 1/25/53 Everyday Movies 2/18/36 "I'm not using any makeup until I can convince my husband that I need a southern cruise for my health." Invisible Scarlet O'Neil 11/28-30/40 Back then, after a touchdown you had the option to do a place kick, a dropkick, or run or pass to get the extra point in. Specialized kickers, as well as the idea of separate offense and defense squads, wouldn't come along until later in the 1940s. Selachian fucked around with this message at 16:54 on Feb 21, 2023 |

Scarlett has a hell of a throwing arm. Also able to tackle 200+ pound men while wearing heels (pretty impressive even if invisibility gives her an advantage).

Shoot, beaten!! (It's great ) B. Virtanen ANSU Fingerpori Hessus sentään = "Dear Jesus" or "Jesus Christ" as an exclamation, but with the J changed to H and the S duplicated due to dialectic reasons. Hessu = Goofy, the Disney character Like in many other languages, exclamations like these eventually gain variations due to e.g. slang, dialects & not wishing to invoke Jesus' name unnecessarily. Examples from Finnish that came to mind are "Kiesus", "Jessus" and just "Sus", but I'm pretty sure I've never seen or heard "Hessus" specifically. Then again, in certain languages "Jesus" is pronounced as "Hesus" so this is probably just a case of me being unfamiliar with local sayings.

It's a continuation of the sibling rivalry jokes even after the sister gets married and moves out. Same brother and sister, even.

Endless Mike posted:Jeremy is in high school, so no older than 18, but doesn't really talk about college applications or anything, so we'll say he's 17, which meant he was born in 1997 when this was published. Must have been some fun retro show his parents went to for kicks. In a Zits treasury book I have, Jeremy lists his birth date as July, 1984, which would make him my age. The strip's been running so long now (my book's from ~2004?) that Jeremy, Walt and Connie have gotten the Simpsons treatment when it comes to their ages.
