Yes. Also the Williams is ugly as well. I’m less impressed with the Merc W14 seeing it drive, but The Ferrari looks incredible. Aston looks great.

They showed this off last year, so hardly anything new. Probably re-announcing it in the hopes somebody buys ads that will only be visible from the fraction of a second of onboard camera we get.

What I learned yesterday:

1) RedBull can run any tire combo that they want and pull away from the field at will.
2) Mercedes totally missed the target on their design and will probably stop development of the 2023 car early to focus on 2024
3) Whoever Lance's Dad hired to design the car really knows what he's doing.
4) The teams are starting to figure out how to counter the aero changes that were put into the rules last year that made the racing better.

From my uninformed layman understanding of the sport:
1. Adrian Newey is an expert on the ground effect and wrote his thesis on it, and has workshopped cars reliant on ground effects for years (see Aston Martin Valkyrie) and therefore the RB is just miles ahead of everyone else.
2. Everyone has poached a shitton of people from Mercedes so they're in dire straits, and AM specifically hired Dan Fallows who was Newey's protege and aerodynamics specialist.
3. The current regulations make it hard to catch up during the season so WYSIWYG for the reason of the season probably

Newey also has been working in racing since the mid 1980s, so he helped work on ground effects cars back then! I don’t think it’s as much his experience there as the overall “can see the air” genius for design combined with an eye for reading the rules and finding the best way to still get what they need from the framework.
