Illinois just did, goes into effect next year. It doesn't help gig or contract workers for poo poo though, just like the Chicago ordinance doesn't. It would be better to just have it accrue as extra pay you're due and then you just take unpaid time off when needed

this whole money thing is a disaster. the fab should pay for things they need to build out productive capacity in IOUs for chips. the construction crews, hvac guys, equipment providers, can then use those IOUs for their future integrated circuit needs, or trade them further on for other goods.

the slips could say something like "this note is legal tender for all chips public and private" and then the inflation problem goes away

when the fed says inflation they mean wages and nothing else

food, power and shelter are all irrelevant and can be added or subtracted at whims to make the number say whatever they want, but the purpose of the fed has been to suppress wages since 1972 and that is what they do

There was never any serious risk that SVB depositors wouldn't get back most of their money, or even all of it given enough time. A ton of this panic is entirely because the government rushed out to guarantee deposits with infinite money, making an already bad situation seem far, far worse. Now they need to walk this poo poo back because "the federal reserve has infinite money and all deposits are guaranteed" is a batshit insane statement.
