But that would include They Came Together, one of the best comedies nobody has ever watched

Back when Dickstream was a thing (despite what I'm about to write, no it wasn't mostly streaming porn, it was Dickeye streaming movies with a chat, mixture of weird poo poo and classics, I think it's how I first saw Surviving Edged Weapons, definitely the only time I saw Magic Lizard, but also there was a Fast and Furious marathon once) they showed us the 1970s Alice in Wonderland porno and that's just an insane movie.

Fake Edit: Free Dickeye.

This is legit one of my fave gifs ever and to my knowledge it's from a porn parody of... some Steven Seagal movie?

Also, don't porn parodies these days have really boring titles, like "Avengers XXX: A porn parody" for copyright reasons?

I think it's just laziness in coming up with names, and worry about people just not understanding puns anymore. Not even Disney could successfully sue "rear end-vengers: Infinity Whore" for copyright infringement. A large part of that is claiming someone would be confused about which product was which.

The jumping out of a cake scene was from Under Siege. Which means that gif probably comes from the fairly boringly named Tatas Under Siege

It's a combination of having the correct porn parody pop up if you search for (for example) "Avengers porn" and still being different enough to avoid copyright issues. Once again, SEO ruins everything.

Top Secret! seems like a natural fit for that list.

Also, does anyone even remember that The Silence of the Hams exists? Even the trailer is just... painful.

That also instantly brought Jane Austen's Mafia! to mind but the first Youtube result was a trailer in such a low quality that you can count the pixels.

By far the best porn parody is the Star Trek: TNG one, in which they play everything 100% straight, wrote a genuinely good script providing more closure for Tasha Yar, and hired a professional Patrick Stewart impersonator to play Picard. If you edit out the sex scenes, it is just a really good Star Trek fan film. Turns out that a lot of porn stars are also huge nerds.

Don't press play
So Quentin Tarantino is doing two nights at the London Palladium next weekend reading from his new book, and the Prince Charles Cinema is showing Pulp Fiction on 35mm 90 minutes before hand. If I lived down there I'd be tempted to get a ticket on the off chance they're getting him to introduce it - they recently had Brendan Fraser turn up in costume to introduce their Mummy double bill.

Also the part where he paid a guy to Nancy Kerrigan on Drago Jr.'s arm. And then assaulted his rich friend. And then harassed him and his family (and threatened then? can't remember) via the media.

And the fact that Damien would have been a multi-millionaire after winning the initial title-fight.

In fact, I think your feeling is just way off. Especially since the ending of the movie is at pains to show that both the rich man and the poor-but-actually-now-rich man are both just hosed-up victims of the carceral state, and that perpetuating the cycle of violence did not bring them any lasting contentment, and that that contentment can probably only be achieved by dialog, authentic emotional engagement, and probably a lot of therapy

It just gave a weird vibe to me for the entire movie. I didn't feel Dame winning the title was so terrible other than that he fought dirty in boxing, and like he doesn't even get disqualified, so what he did is within the rules of the game enough that he can win the title?

So the Kerriganing thing feels like shoehorning enough of a reason for Adonis to go after Dame and yeah it just feels like as the movie trots to the finish line and Adonis is celebrating his victory that the wrong guy won. (Also it felt genuinely really hard to put 2 and 2 together. I saw a lot of people in my theater trying to figure out what the picture was trying to tell them. You get 5 seconds of a generic looking white dude on screen and you're meant to recognise the same guy over an hour later in a not great photograph.)

I liked the ending with dialogue part, I feel that's on point but I just don't think the movie did what I wanted to get there.

My one complaint with Cr3ed is the opening match in South Africa looks really weird- the CG crowd and compositing are kinda bad but the actual fighters don’t look entirely real, like their faces were put on in post or something. And the rest of the boxing in the movie looks just fine! I don’t know what happened there, was the entire scene added in reshoots?

McCloud
Oct 27, 2005

I actually saw Creed3 earlier today and I agree I found myself rooting more for Dame than Adonis. Like the latter was rich and a championship multiple times in a row and the former was a convict that spent half his life in jail for some bullshit charge for defending his friend (who then turned his back on him).

It doesn't help that the movie seems to go to some lengths to point out that Adonis really did go soft. The boxer that his gym had been grooming to replace him was an arrogant paper tiger. It was a funny scene when Dame has an understated entrance to the audience booing at him and his opponent makes a whole show out of just walking to the ring, complete with a mask and all, and then gets his poo poo rocked.

I haven't seen any of the previous Creeds, so going in to this blind i found it a bit hard to root for the guy who had it all who beats up his ex con buddy.
