I remember watching the first half of Future Imperfect as a kid and actually believing they were doing a 16-year time skip.

I actually have a soft spot for Time’s Arrow, because it’s the first two-parter I remember watching live. My child-mind was blown with the cold open with Data’s head.

I also didn’t get the concept of a two-parter at the time so I was very upset when the episode ended. Lol

The creepiness of the aliens in Time's Arrow was an incredible achievement and child me was terrified.

When I watched that episode as a kid that guy’s death always made me really sad. Still does, kinda.

I forgot how sad that scene was. Jack London runs past the old man, ignoring his obvious plight... and then the aliens appear silhouetted by the light behind them and loom over him.

Good lord it was creepy.

Raffi just has a very weird fanfic energy. The poo poo that happens to her... Like with Sneed. Raffi's finally kicked her drug habits, but oh no! Now she has to snort space drugs through her eyeballs or the Federation will be destroyed! ... I mean it didnt matter anyway so actually no i guess. It moved the plot backwards even. Weird rear end 24/Star Trek crossover with 3 readers.

One the one hand, it features the most obnoxious depiction of Mark Twain that I have ever seen.

One the other hand, it gave us this:

Both parts of Redemption are excellent.

It’s dull, op. They immediately toss out all the good snowballing tension earned in the last act of Part 1 and it never really recovers. Yes, there are individual scenes that are really good, but the episode as a whole never really congeals and it never reaches the same highs as Part 1. It’s a disappointing and almost rushed conclusion.

The resolution is also a complete rear end-pull by Piller. "Uh ... there's a Borg cube hovering over Earth ... um ... okay, if Data puts them to sleep, the cube will self-destruct." The gently caress?

For anyone who used to buy some of Eaglemoss' Star Trek models before they went bust, the company who brought their stock has started selling what they have: https://www.masterreplicas.com/

They're only putting about 25ish items up for two weeks at a time, then they'll rotate out to another batch. They apparently even have some stuff that Eaglemoss never got around to releasing before they went under.

I hope they release the Parliament-class model that Eaglemoss was getting ready to publish right as they went under. I wouldn't mind having one of those if that'd be the last Eaglemoss thing I ever bought.

I’m rewatching search for Spock and I’m really enjoying Captain Esteban’s determination not to be the captain whose crew all turned into babies or something when he refused to beam up Spock on just Dr. Marcus’ say-so; the Grissom isn’t going to be the Exeter, no sir.

I'm missing about six ships from the original 180 ship run. Of course, none of them are in the current batch.

Nope, doesn't look like I have any of those in my sell pile. Which is weird because I should have Archer's Toy Ship, I have all the ones around it, but I don't see it in my pile. I'll keep you in mind if it turns up.

They're off Paramount+ in the US as well. I think they're streaming on HBO Max right now. My guess is that it's a different business arm for the films and TV, so when a Paramount TV executive says "We want Paramount+ to be the exclusive home of Star Trek", a Paramount movie exec can just glance up from his line of cocaine, and point at the big briefcase of money HBO is holding, before going back to the glass table top.

E: The shows are still on Paramount+ in the US, it's just the films that are off (and have been for a while).
