Yeah one hundred percent. And honestly getting 100k in equity (over 4 years) is really not outstanding at all by tech standards. There is really almost no upside to stay there it seems, elon is too loving cheap to make it worth the while for anyone who can actually do stuff.

Especially when the single statistic of some proof that Twitter is growing is Elon bragging about 8 billion user minutes per day, and even there we only have his word for it that this hasn't happened before. And even if this is an area of genuine growth, having to resort to bragging about something no-one knew you were even keeping track of before is kind of sus by itself. It strongly suggests that all of the ways we normally measure profitability or growth for a social media company points toward failure and could not be used here.

Yeah, I really hope the junior folks who may not be true believers there have someone either at the company or in their personal lives to tell them "hey.. this is bullshit you know that right?" because a lot of younger workers out of school can definitely get snowed by this kind of crap.

Add in the fact that the valuation will utterly collapse if someone serious comes in to buy it out and actually does due diligence unlike some idiot boer and realizes how shaky the whole thing is.

The thing that really grinds my gears is Twitter pre buyout had problems but its situation was no where near as dire as he paints it I am 100% certain. He's just saying that poo poo so when it collapses from all his fuckups and attempts at cost cutting (because of all the debt HE saddled it with) he can say "whew, that company sure was a mess when I came in and I tried my best, right guys?" It's just so transparent.

those kind of telematics units aren't specific to teslas. When I got a car a few years ago after several years of having a drivers licence but not driving, I got insurance with a company under a scheme where they installed one in the car as a means to allow your premiums to come down quicker (if you turn out to be their idea of a "good driver"). I think they pay attention to the same kind of things as are shown in that tweet (hard braking, time of day you drive etc.) It worked for me because nearly all of my driving is bog standard driving to work and back or to the shops.

The unit is still in my car and presumably still phones home but no one is listening because i'm not on that deal any more

Also those dongle things have always seemed to me like one of those things where they would have every incentive to raise your rate and none to lower it. Every little nuance of spirited driving, every nighttime drive, every time you do something off the perfect predictable pattern — rate goes up. But when does it go down?

It’s like how gas prices fluctuate — they’ll go up instantly by 20 cents overnight due to some market jolt, but then they creep reluctantly back down one or two cents at a time over the next two weeks, and everything under that curve is profit
