there's two dudes I follow who do some incredible covers of mostly video game music, RichaadEB and GaMetal(Jonny Atma). Rich is a fantastic guitarist while Jonny is a One Man Band. In addition to doing rock solid covers, they also put out very well-produced videos for said covers. Some examples of their stuff: lately Rich's been making a lot of Pizza Tower covers. While jamming out in each video in a chef outfit and fake moustache, he also cooks something. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JMVFI8HRZLI&hd=1 his latest video is a 9-minute crazy good cover of all three phases of the final boss theme, Unexpectancy. It's not only really good, but there's even a twist(unexpected, one might say) about 2/3 of the way through the video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zCyBKcikfLU&hd=1 I don't really pay attention to pokemon much but holy goddamn if this isn't an incredible theme with a brilliant drop https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3jp4EumMn3U&hd=1 he's also not bad at original works! he was commissioned to make a theme for Snuffy, and created this banger that is in a Carpenter Brut or Perturbator style. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bYEc1EkyqIw&hd=1 as for GaMetal, he's probably my most-listened-to cover artist. He's been pumping them out for at least a decade at this point, so there's an immense back catalog, and he releases all his covers in albums on Bandcamp set to Name Your Price, so it doesn't cost much to get everything he's put out. He eventually started including contextual video from the game the cover is of, be it a boss fight, credits, etc, in the background of his videos. The cover that first got my attention, Masked Dedede, from 8 years ago. Still good, though definitely can tell he's upgraded his audio and video equipment in the interim(especially compared to the medley video below lol). He occasionally does remakes of his old covers, this is one I'd definitely like to see him tackle again. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ht1VAtHse6s&hd=1 He does a ton of medleys, usually based around a single game series or console, and I like them both because they're just fun mishmashes of themes, but also because he tends to include a lot of more obscure stuff in them that wouldn't get their own cover, like his PS1 medley having the battle theme from obscure jrpg Legend of Legaia https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sVchJt3Edzo&hd=1 His cover of Dancing Mad is excellent, he's got a great singing voice. I prefer the old cover to the newer one because the newer one doesn't have the kefka laugh, and what kind of dancing mad cover doesn't have the kefka laugh at THAT moment. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nqPP9tp6PKo&hd=1 He also does April Fool's covers, where he'll tackle a theme from a terrible game, a random request from his wife, or something else silly on April 1st. My favorite of those is his Cheetahmen cover https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XJHsJSm1IHU&hd=1

Sofles is a massively influential graffiti writer in the Australian scene. Around two or three years ago he started doing whole process videos - uninterrupted, largely single camera real-time videos where he paints an entire oversized graffiti piece from start to finish in 1-2 hours. Colours is one of my favorites, along with Raw Brick. There is something absolutely mesmerizing and meditative about watching a master painter at work - there is a real deftness in the way he builds up layers of colors, and almost no hesitation to it. Another cool one is Bobby Hung's Real Time Web Series. Real-time, live action graffiti painting set to interviews with the featured writer. Part of his goal with his series is to get first-hand accounts of the New Zealand graffiti scene and how it has developed since a handful of people first caught Wild Style and Beat Street on TV. It's a pretty interesting look into a counterculture not many people know a lot about it, in a place that not many would associate with graffiti either. Utah & Ether will be a little more contentious - this duo makes no pretenses that they are doing art, and have travelled the world explicitly to paint subway trains. Their own channel is actually pretty limited so you'll have to go digging a bit through the youtubes if you want to see more. I'll leave the morality of breaking & entering in order to commit property damage up to the viewer to decide, but this video is worth watching just to see them digging through concrete and rock with a pickaxe to get into a subway tunnel.

I follow a few MTG streamers/youtubers, chiefly Tolarian Community College, Day9, and the focus of this post, Jim Davis. Jim's been a huge boon for my playlist of stuff to watch at work, he uploads videos that are anywhere from 30 minutes to 2 hours every day. He also uploads videos on his second youtube channel, Bronze to Mythic, where he starts at the bottom of the ladder in MTG Arena drafting and works his way to the top rank, Mythic, every time a new set comes out. It's fun and also genuinely helpful for learning drafting strategies and builds. Jim streams a ton on twitch, then edits them down into episodes to put onto youtube, cutting out downtime between matches and such. He uses a soundboard, which I like most of the time, and he also is a HUGE FRIGGIN' SHILL for his sponsors and the like/comment/subscribe thing, but that's okay, I understand, he's a pretty small-time creator all things considered and he's gotta make that money and get eyes on his stuff however he can especially as he's also a new father. He really works his rear end off as a streamer, and just had to hire an editor because he was spending 12+ hours per weekday making and editing videos. He's also a pretty big name in competitive magic, who regularly makes it into Pro Tour and other top competitions. If I had to say one bad thing about him, it's that I don't like his video thumbnails, but I get that he has to chase that algorithm dragon. Some of his more recent videos I really enjoyed: He has a series called Mogg Monday where he plays a goblin deck every single monday, usually with some new gimmick, but sometimes he slips back to the classic Muxus deck. He's been doing it every monday for almost the last 4 years now. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wi_uYbgMN3o&hd=1 His recent Bronze to Mythic series for March of the Machine started off with an absolutely crazy five-color deck, it was an absolute blast: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fz17dx6DORM&hd=1 he also makes content for CoolStuffInc, a gaming store site, including youtube uploads(he generally is less ostentatious and doesn't use a soundboard in these), here's the latest one where he plays a control deck against some of the top decks in the current meta: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ruShJntmh1c&hd=1 He's also done videos for WotC themselves, including their "Deck Building 101" video, which is succinct(yes, 24 minutes is succinct for a game like MTG) and an excellent introduction for starting players: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SbZNROEPykE&hd=1

I just discovered through the algorithm a delightful channel where a PHD in Physics discusses a range of subjects around acedemia and physics in such a knowledgable and sassy way I can't help but like her. The topics range from amusing and trivial niche areas to deadly serious and pressing matters that need to be addressed, and she handles them all in a really cool way where she doesn't drown you in the details, until she does, but not before she's got you to sign on for the ride. https://www.youtube.com/@acollierastro Here she discusses the crackpot emails she and others in her field receive on a regular basis: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=11lPhMSulSU Here she discusses the abysmal history the USA has in its treatment toward women in space, to a backdrop of her building lego models of various space things: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WBlzD6MZ9A0 Here she discusses the whole Pluto controversy and why it was so important for science discourse: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TwCbMJmgShg Here she discusses the whole String Theory discussion and why it was so bad for science discourse: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kya_LXa_y1E And here she discusses sexual harrassment in astronomy and physics: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8DNRBa39Iig I really dig her style and I think she should have more views so have at it.
