I really wouldn't trust anything from these sites to have been rigourously designed and tested for the speed a grinder works at.

If I had the skills and equipment for it I would've loved to just test these dodgy accessories on camera, mythbusters style.

They are scary, but, believe it or not, work. I used one to carve out a recess on a tree stump my mother-in-law wanted to use as a potted plant stand.
Obviously be *very* aware of what you're doing, where you are in relation to the tool, etc. IT definitely could take serious chunks out of you.
I used it in combination with another wood-carving grinder blade. That one was a bit less dangerous - it basically only had teeth on the surface of the disc, as opposed to around the edge. Each had it's uses, but, yeah, the chainsaw wheel I'd prefer to not use often. Or with, like a steel apron on or something. Plate mail, maybe.
