I used to think improving education was all teacher training and evidence based practices but that's really something subsidiary to providing teachers incentive to train and adopt new instructional methods and classroom management techniques. And paying them more so that they feel valued and willing to improve But thats pretty simplistic and just my gut feeling. Also some teachers need to learn about behavior especially for classroom management

I mean I think we probably have to start with returning schools to being about education and (this sounds cheesy but whatever) giving kids knowledge and useful skills and not making it about being a place to plop kids while parents work (which is what all the poo poo about reopening schools during covid was actually about). I'm not saying blame teachers I'm saying quit cutting art and music and PE programs
